60kms added during servicing?

Picked up my car last night after it's 2000km service, and found that it had done an extra 60 kays since I dropped the car in. I know I told them to try and fix a rattle (which they failed to do), but 60 kms is a bit ridiculous dont you guys think? The service manager I dealt with had to leave early so I didn't get a chance to ask him about it.

I would take it up further - 60km is substantial for a 2000km service.

Nope, they didn't even fill it up. Who should I take it up with? And what should I expect as "compensation"? It's pretty disappointing, it's almost 5% of my total mileage!

You know that little piece of paper you sign before turning your keys over? You agree to let the shop drive your car for however long they need to in order to diagnose something or fix your car. Unfortunately, many shops use that as an excuse to take your car home for the night and bring it back the next day or just go joy riding. talk to the manager...

CRAP....

Last service I insisted NO TEST DRIVE, without me in the passenger seat..

When they questioned why, I told them it was my prerogative and that I don't trust their techs..

You can imagine how that went down.. But in the end its your car, your choice..

Yeah, I didn't have to pay for it (that would've made it worse!) because it was the 2000km service. I don't think they would've taken it home, basically they had to repaint my passenger door handle, which was removed and sent to another dealer for two nights. I guess I'll see how I go tomorrow

60 kilometers is total bullshit. In Sydney that meets over an hour of driving . . . there is no way they can claim that was necessary to find a rattle.

Not taking anything away from 60kms (that's just bs) but thought about how they drove those 60kms. When I picked my car up the chic I dealt with says "your car is incredible - it goes like a rocket..." How much I was wishing for valet mode.

This is what I would do next time. Or find a better dealer.

I can safely say I won't be going back to that dealership, unless they give me some sort of reasonable explanation... which is HIGHLY unlikely

Wow didn't expect that from Doncaster of all places seeing as they've got plenty of M cars strewn about the place...
