HELP tons of problems after battery died
I have a 2013 128i with the n51 and recently went on vacation and came back to a dead battery(was from 2020 so somewhat expected). Picked up a new battery, 70AH agm. Registered it with the Carly scanner and then went to start it. Car stalled immediately, thought it was just cause it had been sitting for a few weeks. But no, a few more starts and stalled more. Eventually was able to idle (kind of) rpms bounced around 1200 down to 400 and kept repeating that sequence. When I ran the codes, I came up with 19 codes. 14 of which were engine related.
Previously this car had 0 and ran perfectly. I tried to give it a little gas as well, throttle pedal gives 0 input at all. List of codes: 002DED DME power management closed circuit violation 002E8D DME intelligent battery sensor, signal transmission 002ACB DME master relay, activation 002E7C BSD data bus communications fault 002A31 DME valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor: guide 002A33 DME valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor: guide 002A30 DME valvetronic, eccentric shaft sensor: power supply 002CF9 DME throttle valve potentiometer 1 002CFA DME throttle valve potentiometer 2 002D09 DME throttle valve 002D1D DME accelerator pedal module, pedal travel sensor 1, voltage supply 002FAB DME active engine mount, electric 002A7C DME VANOS inlet, cold start 002F4A DME interface EWS (immobilizer)-DME 00A103 CAS immobilizer BUS fault 00E1CD total ring could not be started 009315 kombi: odometer difference 00A559 instrument cluster power supply has been shut off 00AA0E CBC-ECALL software reset Troubleshooting so far: Unplugged the ESS connector, no change Getting 12v at the valvetronic motor connector, but with key on there's no whine Hooked jumper cables from engine block to ground, to test for bad ground Tested continuity between both ends of ground cable, 0 ohms Valvetronic motor fuze is good Engine bay battery terminal posts are also reading 12v At this point I'm completely lost, I've been working on cars for years, but never had to deal with any bmw electronics/computers. My next thought is the fuel pump? However I doubt that a fuel pump would be throwing any of these unrelated codes. The car is completely stock as it was my daily. Has 70k miles, and I've owned it for about a year with no issues |
