I can't remember the fellow collector that collects the Hot Wheels Gulf vehicles?

I thought that these 1:64 models may interest you as they are the same scale as Hot Wheels?

That was me thanks!!! However, my collection is growing so much that I have to limit to just hot wheels and matchbox. That Actros is nice though!

So far I have avoided the E46 models

Us Brits have to buy our HW on eBay in the USA, eBay in there wisdom have now added 20% VAT to all the business sellers automatically so I have to now decide whether to continue collecting HW

In theory VAT should only be added for us Brits once an item is over £15.00 and then they should calculate the total including the post, eBay are adding in the price of postage to item even if it is below £15.00 when adding the VAT so they have killed half the sales over night.

I doubt they did that by choice.

Either the law in the USA or the UK or both have changed so that the VAT is added automatically so nobody in the UK can now avoid the VAT.

I knew that the changes were coming in Europe but I was supprised that it affected countrys outside of Europe, the only hope for Brits who wish to avoid paying VAT on items from the USA would be if the USA and the UK do a trade deal.

The US doesn't give two shits about your VAT lmao. Believe me.

Idk if it's Brexit or not but eBay does NOT want to impose taxes on customers. That reduces sales revenue. So it's a UK government issue clearly.

Woohoo! I ordered my E46 M3 Hot Wheels! I just wish they had made a Laguna Seca Blue instead of Phoenix "baby puke" Yellow. Still cool though...

It would have been nicer in Gulf Chrome, maybe it will look better in hand and I also wonder what the engine bay will look like

Hi all,

Long time reader of this thread (and super long-term BMW miniature collector).

Anyway, I have a contact at Munich who looks after the BMW miniature side of things and I had a really good conversation with him a couple of weeks ago. Mostly around why BMW release so few miniatures (when compared to Audi and Mercedes for example), licencing queries, the future of resin models with BMW, future strategy, planned releases, etc. Happy to discuss further if there is any interest.

Anyhow, he confirmed to me that the below is the current status of 1/18 BMW miniatures that they have. Note that I am awaiting clarification on the M8, M2 CS and 5er LCI which is stated as already available.

• 2 Series Gran Coupe -> in planning
• 4 series -> in planning
• M8 -> available already
• M2 CS -> already available
• M3 -> under development
• M4-> under development
• X3M -> in planning
• X4M -> in planning
• X5M -> in planning
• X6M -> in planning
• 5er LCI -> already available
• 7er LCI -> in planning
• X1 LCI -> not planned right now
• i4 -> in planning
• iX -> in planning

The M8 is seen but not yet released.

I did not even know that BMW had produced a 1:1 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé

I have never seen a model of a M2 CS on there website

There are currently only three 1:18 BMW M2's available as follows

80 43 2 454 833 BMW M2 Long Beach Blue
80 43 2 454 780 BMW 2002 Hommage Eisblau
80 43 2 454 781 BMW 2002 Hommage Turbomeister Orange/Schwarz

There website is down for maintanence so all we can do s look at the PDF catalogue in the mean time

Correct, I too have not seen the 1/18 M2 CS available (or the M5 LCI and M8) although my contact at BMW Munich says that they should be available. I am awaiting clarification from him and once I do, i'll report back.

I am sure you are aware but outside of the BMW network, there was the 1/18 M2 Competition Shmee150 edition made available (limited to 30 pieces) as well as the regular hobby edition.

I am not sure were your contact works?

I am wondering if he works at the BMW Welt "Museum" shop, the reason I ask is that they also sell after market models at the Museum shop.

David aka "Dackelone" used to upload photos from the Museum shop and you could see the aftermarket models that are not sold via the BMW Dealerships

You are correct as it was Minichamps who produced the 1/18 M2 Competition Shmee150 and then produced a regular model, in the past it was easier to find the new releases as BMW used to release the models in August and bring out a new catalogue but they have become lazy and just update an on going online PDF fife.

Would you be able to find out if MINI intend to release anything special this year seeing MINI is 20yrs old this year, the MINI Lifestyle website is piss poor and they have not released a MINI in 1:43 in over five years as they have just produced 1:18 models from the cheaper manufactures

The UK BMW Lifestyle shop is running but I find that there are always more models on the German BMW Lifestyle website

Hi, no my contact does not work at the museum. He is at management level at Munich so is a very good source.

I did not ask anything regarding MINI but I will ask and let you know.

Yes, BMW UK are not the best at updating their website and very slow with new miniature releases. I find it quicker to order direct from my local dealer even before the BMW UK website is updated (the website is down to BMW GB responsibility).

Correct, there should be a 1/18 850i coming in Sunset Orange soon too (hobby edition only).

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The M3 and M4s I was referring to are the G80 and G82 editions.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The M3 and M4s I was referring to are the G80 and G82 editions.

I have only ever ordered on one occasion direct from the German website, I only look at the UK website to get the prices as they are cheaper than Germany, if you follow the instructions on the UK website you then have to contact a handful of UK Dealerships that don’t stock the models and they say they can't get them.

I used to order via a guy that worked in a BMW Parts Department but he left and now they insist that you pay before ordering so I have found out that there are a few good BMW Dealerships that list on eBay.

I only really collect 1:43 and BMW are mainly selling 1:18 so I am not missing out

I wasn’t aware that there was a new 1:1 M3 & M4 so I will look out for the new M4 in the hope that Minichamps will produce it, I have a little OCD so once I started looking into the M8 I got carried away and thought that I may as well share the older part numbers being the UK & German websites are down at the moment.

I have been collecting the MINI models since day one and I recently got hold of a set of eight Kyosho 1:18 promotional MINI ONE’s that were produced in RHD, there is no passion for collecting the BMW MINI compared to the Classic Mini so there are not a lot of MINI model collectors out there.

Ah it's interesting since I found it the other way round in that for me, it was cheaper to buy from a German BMW dealer than the UK one.
When I used to buy mine from the UK dealers, they did insist on payment before ordering which was no issue from my side.

I can tell you and I am sorry to inform you that my contact at BMW stated they will be exiting the 1/43 market and focusing only on 1/18, 1/64 and 1/87. Of course, I am sure model manufactures will probably still make 1/43 under license.

Be careful when you see the new M3 and M4; that grill may hurt your eyes!

MINI's are very cool! Whilst I do not collect them, I always like the 1/18 Kyosho Cooper S JCW edition which looked awesome!
