Put my 135i Rear bumper on my 128i...

I remember a post about this where someone else did it but changed the side plastic mounting brackets in order for it to connect properly...completely unnecessary. The bumper slaps right on perfectly where the factory 128i would go. I'm just waiting on my diffuser from BMW to come in, should be a couple more days.

How much was that bumper ordered and painted + diffuser ? And what is the part number of the 135i bumper?

No Kidding. The difference with my situation is that I purchased this salvage titled 2011 with 1,850km for well under $20k, and the shop that the car is in is my own. Which also means purchasing parts, painting and installing is nothing for me.

I actually purchased that bumper off ebay for $75USD plus $175 shipping to Toronto. I believe list price of that bumper from local BMW dealerships is nearly $700 without the diffuser. Diffuser is around $150CDN cost.

Paint and install was free.

Question Bumper touches trunk

Hi I saw that the bumper touches the trunk. I am having the same issue with my 128i, do you know why this happens? And how to fix this?

Easy mistake to make because the bumper flexes a bit when installing and creates a bow. get an extra set of hands and be conscious that the bumper goes in straight to each clip. Looks like the bumper hung up on the lip in the middle instead of tucking itself into its little home. And it's correct 128i does not need the 135i plastic bits.

Hey All,

Dont want to create a new thread so hoping someone can help me with my Q here:

My 128i stock bumper has the PDC holes:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_6655

The 135i bumper I bought doesnt have the holes. Is a retrofit possible while still retaining the reverse sensors? I guess the obvious answer is yes if you cut the holes, but that being said not sure how easy of a job that would be either to get things just right?

TIA

Idk buying an entire auto body shop just to swap a bumper doesn’t sound *that* easy
