Just out of curiousity how/why do you check the temperature of the hub of the wheel.

Second, why would you powder coat a track wheel? Just picking up weight so it looks better?

Agreed as to: Ask smart questions when getting your tires powder coated.

Agreed as to know that the person is powder coating knows what they are doing.
Infrared thermometers are great for measuring tire temps across the tire, much more useful than a pressure gauge. They're also handy for testing wheel, brake and differential temps, as well as trouble shooting under the hood. Plus you can point them at anything, which comes in handy between sessions.

Powdercoating a wheel adds about four to eight ounces, not really significant, and when removing the stock paint or powder, it doesn't net anything. Using a car for road and track usage and using aggressive track pads, I get lots of embedded pad material, and the stock silver shows a lot of that, changing to a darker color helps to hide that. Short answer - style.

Anything is possible, however I've been 2+years on this set with NO issues. My buddy that has been running around 5 years on his powder coated wheels has never had any issues either. Seems to hold up better than paint for sure. I'm happy with mine.

You can't link pics from a Gmail email. You'll need to upload them to a photo sharing site.

Indeed. Main reason why I went the powdercoat route.

Your car looks pimp.
