The only true deal is no deal. Yeah, the first year will be a #### show but GB will be better off as you can easily tell from France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and so on that the EU days are number.

If your scenario pans out the EU will be toast...just a matter of time.

Can you imagine what a free floating Deutschmark will do to the German economy as it quickly gains strength?

To what end I ask...what will change between now and the date approved by the EU if they even go for it?

It will be interesting.

A tad off topic.

Friends of us bought a house near Alicante in Spain from UK people who are afraid of what's coming up next with Brexit.

Prices are nice, cost of living is nice. The climate is nice.

A lot of realestate for sale with normal prices(about 50/25% of the price we pay in the Netherlands for realestate)

10 years ago my wife and I decided we want to live in Spain(or Latin America) if we are>50y.o. And we're approaching that age.

I've had it with my country, with all the tax stuff, snowflake gutmensch Islam cuddling and climate change loony government overhere. If it was for me Nexit.

We're going to take a look in the Alicante area to see if it suits us there and buy something. We can AIRBNB it in high season.

But I'm so done with the Netherlands atm.

Cheers
Robin

Oh boy, it's that time again...

Forum voor Democratie (Forum for Democracy) is not far-right party. The media is constantly shifting the overton window.

Here are some automatically translated excerpts from this right-wing extremist, xenophobic, totalitarian, fascistic neo-Nazi party.

Quote:
We want:

1. A stop to party political appointments: open applications for all public and semi-public top positions.
2. Just like in the United States, when a new government takes office, the top officials who are going to implement the policy must reapply for their position.
3. The dismissal law of civil servants is relaxed and aligned with the normal dismissal law.
4. Digital voting via individual voting boxes in the House of Representatives whereby the voting behavior of MPs can easily be followed online by everyone.
Quote:
A. Introduction of the Dutch Values Protection Act (BNW Act). All institutions (schools, religious institutions, etc.) must endorse five fundamental values:

1. When religious rules of life conflict with Dutch law, Dutch law always prevails.
2. Everyone has the right to believe what he or she wants; therefore also the right to abandon his or her faith.
3. Everyone has the right to criticize, ridicule, analyze and question religious ideas.
4. All people are basically equal, regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation.
5. The partner choice is free; forced marriage and child marriage are unacceptable.

B. Violation of these values is followed by a warning and a fine; a second warning follows closure, termination of activities and criminal prosecution of the responsible officials.

C. Religious schools must bring their students into contact with other beliefs and give their students the space to embrace a different belief or no belief. The curriculum gives room to knowledge in the broadest sense and the holocaust is taught at all schools.

D. There will be a ban on foreign financing from religious schools and institutions.

E. There will be a ban on wearing niqabs, balaclavas and other face-covering clothing in public.
Quote:
We want:

1. Introduction of binding referenda and popular initiatives based on the Swiss model to break the party cartel and to seriously increase the influence of voters.
2. Introduction of the directly elected mayor in all municipalities in the Netherlands from 1 January 2018. Every Dutch citizen must be able to stand for election as mayor (provided that a certain number of basic conditions are met).
3. Drastically increase the quality of public administration. A leaner, more efficient government.
Quote:
We want:

1. Immediately elected Prime Minister.
2. Everyone gets two votes: one vote for a party and one vote for the Prime Minister.
3. The trust rule remains intact.
4. The prime minister is given the authority to appoint and dismiss ministers (in the interim).
5. The prime minister will be given more powers to intervene in the areas of individual ministers
Quote:
We want:

1. Reclaim as much as possible from national sovereignty.
2. Compulsory referenda on transfer of sovereignty.
3. Abolish monistic system, no direct effect of international treaties
4. Reconsider international trade agreements.
Quote:
We want:

1. A referendum on the continuation of Dutch membership to the Eurozone.
2. A referendum on the continuation of open borders and the free, uncontrolled movement of people within the Union.
3. A referendum on membership of the European Union.
Quote:
We want:

1. All those beautiful things that the West has produced, teach, promote and promote again.
2. Stop subsidizing segregation.
3. Stimulate investment in business in Dutch film and art. Also more Dutch culture at the NPO (PBS)
4. In general: to love our country again and be proud of our shared history and future!
Quote:
We want:

1. Modernization of drug policy
2. Gradual legalization of soft drugs
3. More attention to prevention and treatment of drug addiction
4. Abuse and disruption of public order by users must be punished more severely.
Quote:
1. Maintaining a good safety net for those who really need it.
2. But working must always pay and working must pay considerably more than a benefit.
3. Social safety net is intended for those who cannot, not for those who do not want. Strict fraud control.
4. Reform and simplification of the benefit system.
5. No benefits for immigrants who have remained unemployed in the Netherlands for the first 10 years.
6. Stop priority scheme for immigrants on social rental housing in major cities. These should be made available to teachers in education, police officers, nurses and other people who are indispensable for public services.
Quote:
1. Asylum policy based on the Australian model: the Netherlands itself decides who will be accommodated here. Immigrants with extreme political ideas that are not in line with our western civilization must be immediately deported to their country of origin.
2. Public money can be spent much better and more effectively on reception in the region.
3. Asylum applications no longer (semi) automatically lead to permanent residence permits but (at most) to temporary reception. The aim must be to return to the country of origin;
4. Introduction of the GreenCard system based on the American model for temporary labor migrants.
5. Active deportation policy for illegal immigrants; criminalize illegality.
6. Double passport holders lose Dutch passport for (serious) crimes.
7. Promote remigration where integration (assimilation) fails.
8. Limit the appeal against decisions in asylum cases to 1 body; narrative facts and circumstances can no longer be changed.
Quote:
We want:

1. Better protection of personal data
2. Do not implement EU anti-small business legislation, such as the General Data Protection Regulation 2018
3. Extensive protection of personal data through two-factor authentication for all online services of the government
4. Stricter enforcement of the Data breach reporting obligation under the WBP.
5. Invest more in manpower for investigation instead of measures that violate privacy.
6. Minimum data collection from the government and obligation for privacy and security by design.
Quote:
We want:

1. Eliminate underpaid Eastern European drivers.
2. Remedy false constructions and illegal employment agencies.
3. Stop unfair competition and exploitation immediately.
4. Actively combat nuisance along the road.
5. Minimum rates for the entire sector, possibly with a permit system.
6. Maintain on driving and rest times and cabotage rides.
7. Maintain driver training, further training and minimal language skills, so that unqualified Eastern European drivers are no longer a danger on our roads.
8. Support for Dutch drivers, the best in Europe!
Quote:
We want:

1. Net neutrality enforced by Dutch law.
2. Invest billions in super-fast internet for the whole of the Netherlands (including remote areas). This is even more important for our knowledge economy than investments in the physical infrastructure.
3. Permit conditions for telecom and internet providers such that there is an incentive for the operators to continue to invest in fast (mobile) data networks so that the Netherlands maintains its lead in this area.
4. Abolish the Cookie Act in its entirety.
5. Establishment of a digital advisory board in which the public and private sectors are represented and give advice to parliament with regard to internet legislation so that the Netherlands maintains a leading position.
These fucking far-right fascists!

4.3 million signed petition to stop Brexit and counting.

1 million anti-Brexit protesters in central London.

Interesting...

Parliament has officially taken the Brexit process out of May's control...

Quote:
Come Wednesday, lawmakers could vote on as many as seven different options -- which might include a second referendum, crashing out with no deal, and a Norway-style deal with the EU, giving the UK full access to the single market and the European Free Trade area.
Looks like the wild west has crossed the pond...

The Norway option would be their best option, but I don't think the EU is going to give it to them.

Quote:
LONDON — In a major concession, British Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday offered U.K. lawmakers the chance to vote on whether to hold a new referendum on the country’s membership in the European Union — but only if they back her thrice-rejected Brexit agreement.
Looks like the EU future may be extended...
