Let's see your custom upgraded oil cooler mounts & brackets

I bought all the pieces for a DIY oil cooler upgrade kit and I need to find a way to mount the cooler.

I haven't pulled the car apart yet, but I would like to look at some other peoples work to minimize the downtime of the car and speed up the install process.

For reference I bought a 20 row Setrab cooler.

Thank you

I don’t have any real world experience to share but this is on my to do list so please share what you end up doing. One article I have kept to help me when I do install one is below. Not sure how reputable the company is but my assumption is they know what they are talking about.

A few interesting points in the article:
1. Do not mount the cooler with the inlet and outlet pointing down. This is interesting to me because the ER cooler is mounted with both inlet and outlet at the bottom.

2. Don’t run two coolers in series. I believe every implementation of two coolers has been in series, so not sure if this actually causes any issue for the n5x.

3. Isolate the cooler from vibration. ER uses some rubber fittings, but a lot of the other companies and DIY setups do not put anything for vibration.

There are a lot of experts on here so hopefully you get some more feedback.

I take it you already have an stock oil cooler? You can use the stock bracket that bolts in between the crash bar and frame rail.

I was able to build a decently rigid mount using these aluminum solid angles https://www.lowes.com/pd/Steelworks-...-Angle/3006070

Not sure of that exact size, but of that shape.

The previous post kind of hinted to it but... Do you plan to replace the OE Oil Cooler, or are you looking to add one on the Driver's side? If you do a google image search for setrab 135i you can find a handful of previous solutions.
