I dont really like the faux vent either... reminds me of a mustang. it should have at least been a slit like on the back bumper. Also, why no black grilles? Thats easily changed. too many quick cuts on the MTVideo tho.

I'm with you on that.

Good: Bodykit, wideeee arches/stance, paint,
Bad: needs more unique wheels, no CF roof, and the side grilles are tacky.

Overall: 4/5 for design. I never used to like the 1 coupe at all. Now I really like this M version.

You see Black grilles on one of the models... but the other has a chrome grill.

It didn't look like the ///M knob was illuminated, right? Hope I'm wrong.

any one else notice the lighting that made the "vent" look like a... vent? why not just make it a vent. you lose nothing in terms of style and actually get some function...

Honestly, looks wise, I'm underwhelmed. I like the wider fenders. But otherwise it looks like a 1 with an aftermarket aero kit bolted on.
And count me as one whos not impressed by the faux Audi "eyebrows". Couldn't they come up with something original?

A few things I noticed:

1. It appears the front brake calibers are smaller than our 135's. Do we know how many pistons the 1M will have? I'm guessing less than 6.

2. The IC looks to be the same size as our 135's. I wonder if there's a secondary one?

3. No hood bulge needed with this engine.

Hard to tell in the photo but it appears the yellow "warm up" lights only go up to 6500 rpms.

Despite having 6 pistons, the 135i brakes are generally regarded as crap for use on the track.

The E92 M3 brakes -- which are reportedly fit on the 1M -- are vastly superior despite having fewer pistons.

I always assumed they were the same brakes from the M3 (floating calipers). They work well, but I miss the initial bite of the 135i brakes. I feel like the 135i brakes are much stronger than the M3's (though it could just be a feeling). I was way more confident with the 6 piston calipers. This is based on everyday driving, not tracking the cars.
