"LOL" @ calling a crease a faux vent, reh-tards.

You can clearly see the crease forms a line that works its way down the side of the car.

I believe we can mostly agree: If BMW wanted to put a "vent" in the fenders; I'm more than confident that they would have and it wouldn't need to be subject to question/interpretation. Why you ask? Simply because it would look like a vent and not follow a line down the entire side of the car.

Looks good but the side vent/crease looks a bit weird compared to the rest of the car.

No, if you look at the oil temperature you'll see the oil is slightly less than
120C which means the car is already warmed up... 7k is the redline

Btw am I the only one who sees the rev. meter and speed-o a little outdated??

Other than that the car looks phenomenal

What's with all the nit-picky design criticisms? What is this Project Runway?

The 1M is going to be the lightest, torquiest M ever designed period. Calculate BHP per pound at final release and the BALLS test will tell the story. That 1M is tight!!

I own an 2011 M3 with ZCP and let me tell you something... If I didn't have a wife and kids to consider in what I drive, I'd consider getting that 1M immediately... well, except that I'd probably miss the V8. The only thing missing will be the grunt of a V8. That would probably keep me in my M3.

Yeah, M3 still rules... one of Europe's last muscle cars.

The white/silver lights on rear cluster suck. Worst thing about the car in my mind.
They had a chance to fix that with LCI ala 5er and 3er but no.

Everything else is

That's good news if these are indeed the same ones.

What a great car! I recently drove the 135I with DCT and it was very impressive. This new 1 series M coupe must be even more fun!

Way to go BMW!!!

I do wish DCT was available though on the M series coupe.

Will this be faster than a M3 on the racetrack?

it turns a crease that looked like a potbelly on the 135i into a single large character line from fender to fender. imo the potbelly is almost unnoticeable now... if it was an actual vent perhaps it wouldnt have the same effect, and would just look like a potbelly after a vent and not a single continuous line?

What do you think about the top crease line and that space between the side marker? Does it look a bit strange to you? Normally I would expect the side marker right along the top crease line.

I'm sure the crease is just a design/engineering solution as a result from needing to widen the fenders. Remember, the 1 series M Coupe was not a big budget project. Some may not like to hear it, but the car was cobbled together quickly and in the most efficient manner. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not like the M division had a near blank canvas and a big budget. I think they did an amazing job in the time/budget allotted.

Pretty sure the E93 CONVERTIBLE M3 does NOT have a Competition Package.... what am I missing here?

+1 yikes. that same seats as 135i?? and 3 color choices would only have me take one at near invoice. I understand that probably won't be an option and thats fine too.

This car will wear quickly with people that buy them based on above things I believe and them leaving the halo M3 untouched IMO with things like that and engine difference.

I would be waiting for these with popping up on ebay with 2k miles, but those 3 color options just don't cut it.
