Even better than the A45 and I liked it.
No pre-order for me but will definitely be taking a look at it when it hits the showrooms.

I saw a new A class on the road today and its prettier than the 1-series hatch.

Is the CLA supposed to compete with the 4-series? Size wise it's more a fit for a 3 or 4 series, not the 1-2 series.

I actually dont mind the sedan (it reminds me of the suzuki kizashi for some strange reason) and the interior looks great.

Easy choice with picking the sedan over the boy racer type hatch imo

A45 is a FWD layout car with a transverse 4cyl engine ahead of the front axle. IMO, it would be wise to drive one before signing on the dotted line. Does the potential for excessive understeer not concern anyone?

That is interesting. Wonder if it will be more like and Audi TT S/RS which by all accounts understeer and aren't that exciting too drive.

Beware of the hype.
+1 My dad was one of them too!! he bought the Golf R before testing it and he is trying to like the car but it's just not good enough... too much LAG he says compared to n54

The biggest positive out of this new duet is that it will wake the other two Germans, BMW and Audi. At $83k recommended retail drive away AND loaded to the hilt with stuff for an AMG, not some S Or Mx35i wannabe, it is in my view awesome, bring em on!

I much prefer the CLA45 styling. I'm not actually a fan of the A45. The rear kind of looks like the cross between a corolla and an audi.

The CLA AMG looks fantastic but I dont think I could shell out for an A45 AMG, but it is a hot hatch. There is a bigger difference in looks between the CLA AMG and A45 AMG than the 135i and 335i. I'm sure my perception will change when I see the performance and numbers the A45 AMG puts down. I know the faster me 135i gets the more desirable and sexy it becomes in my eyes, lol.

Yeah I was a bit put off by the length of the CLA. It will be even longer than a C-class - was hoping it would be slightly shorter.

I will test drive 1 for sure, but I have a big soft spot for powerful 2.0Ts also being an AMG makes it a unique one. That's the whole reason I bought the 335 straight 6 TT.... Unique engine for BMW.

Will pick up 2nd hand one in 2 years. Great to hear us Aussies get the sports exhaust standard.

But i think it's going to be an 'it' car will be heaps of them around.
