2013 E82 128i OEM Halogen Headlights

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Or Best Offer
Shipping Costs Included

Item Interest
I have a set of OEM 128i Halogen headlights for sale. They're in great condition, coming off a car that had 85k miles on it. No scratches or fogging on them at all.

Comes with lights installed already, only missing ones are the indicators which I removed and reused. I am selling them since I swapped them out for the Depo V2 angel eyes.

Price is 350 w/shipping. But open to offers as well.

Was it difficult installing the angel eyes?
I'd like to do a conversion myself, as I'm stuck with halogen. Would like to see your new setup. Thanks.

Not at all if you're somewhat technically inclined. It was pretty straight forward and easy to.

If you know how to remove a bumper you're good to go. I'm fresh off replacing my valve cover to anything after that is a walk in the park

Basically, jack up car or set it on some ramps. Remove the air intake box (2 10mm bolts) and the bumper (several 8mm bolts). From there you're golden. It's one 10mm bolt and 3 or 4 T30/40 (I can't remember) screws you remove and then the headlights come out.

Took me maybe an hour tops to complete. Then you can use an app like Bimmercode with an OBD to code the angel eyes as DRLs. Other than that they are PNP. I got them from Fishcakes on Ebay. Search for Depo V2's and they're listed first from him.

Only thing that I'm unhappy about is the bulbs that came with them. The angel eyes are great, but the low/high beams came with very warm coloured bulbs that contrast with the LED angel eyes so I will be looking to replace those.

I need to get some better shots but I was pretty busy after installing them today. But needless to say, I'm very happy with the result.

Correct. I had the impression when purchased from Fishcakes he did something to the bulbs to match the angel eyes or something. But that’s not the case.

So now I’m debating trying out some different halogens or figuring out how to use HIDs instead. I’m not super headlight pro efficient other than I know how to screw screws and install them.

You could try to get a similar color halogen bulb but it’s always gonna look a little off with the AEs IMO. If you’re gonna do LEDs, you kinda have to go full projector or nothing. Again, IMO

I might be interested......I am going the opposite way....want to convert to halogens from adaptive xenons.

Not sure about compatibility and coding them though?

Can you grab a weight on one of them? I'm curious how much lighter they are than the adaptive xenons.

Approximately 5lbs each.

If you look into it and figure it out feel free to send me a PM for them. I currently have these listed here and on Ebay. So if they don't sell I got you.

Looks like you'll need to redo wiring or at the very least just take it to BMW to get the LCM recoded.

I'm thinking about doing the exact same thing. The plug should be the same but yes, the FRM would need a couple parameters recoded. This could probably be accomplished by simply updating the VO and default coding it.
