Thanks guys. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who believes in the forces of supply and demand. Cheers!

That was exactly what the manager at the dealership im picking my M up at this saturday said. "You know you could drive this thing home and sell it for 5+k more than you paid for it..." lol

I told him the car is never leaving my sight!

Interested in your car, but I'm new here and can't send PM's. Shoot me a PM

Thanks

In any case, some of you know from an earlier post that I'm leaving the US for at least a couple of years and am considering selling the car. It is AW, has less than 3K miles and is like new. Only options are Harman Kardon, iPod USB, BMW assist and bluetooth.

Other than putting it on ebay, other ideas to determine market price? Thanks.

Really? Would you really leave 7-9K on the table? Wow, gs/e60/1m, I would really want to see you on the selling side to see if you really mean what you're saying.
Don't pay too much attention on the responses here. Hypocrisy rules on the forums. Ask $60K obo.

You have a car that is no longer being made and less than 1000 cars in the country. You can get all the money for it. Also, you have the best color, the demand for Alpine White is waaaaaay more than the orange or black.
Not to mention, since you don't have the NAV, the car doesn't have any component that will be outdated. You have the ace in your hand.

I suggest you stay away from this forum

The market is 3K over on new cars so I would say MSRP for a slightly used 1M.

If you that concerned sell your car at what you want to get for it. People these days dont give a rats ass about low balling. Its second nature to most buyers these days.

I just sold my 2002 BMW M3 with 85K miles or 28K. the book is 18K.

The market is what someone is willing to pay for your car.

That's not the market or the market price. The market price is what a preponderance of buyers would pay.

However, that said, when selling an item, I agree, one only needs to find a single buyer to pay one's asking price. Oftentimes it doesn't matter what the market price is if the item is unique or in high demand.

I didn't say the "book" is 3K over I said the market is 3K over. How do I know this? Because thats what I can buy at least 2 1Ms sitting in dealerships for.
