Just went to test drive the VO 1M for sale at Land Rover Chantilly (VIN# WBSUR9C52BVS96513).

About 2 min into it, the Engine Malfunction warning came on and we had to turn back. Car looked like it had been parked outside (trim was faded etc) so it seems pretty beat up, also a 3-owner carfax and the latest owner only had it for 2 months.

an EM could be something simple though... probably just a coil failure or something... how many miles were on it?

Could be something as simple as a valvetronic fault due to low voltage.

38,168 miles. Also, I speak from experience here, a 3 owner Carfax means nothing. I own a 1M where owners traded in or used a dealer as a broker, thus adding "owners" to the Carfax. What matters is condition/miles/service history.

Car seemed beat up, needs new tires, brakes, window regulator, rubber trims (it was definitely parked outside). Also, steering/suspension wasn’t as tight and I expected (likely a result of the age)
