Very much interested. Cool initiative!

My personal take would be the UK version. For Australia, the official number of 1Ms was 302 from BMW Australia.

Great idea. If it is relatively discreet and attached w double sided tape, I'd be interested.

Thanks for doing this.

I'd be down as long as it's not too exxy. Like the full name with 1 of 302 (for Australia).

Good work!

I'm definitely in. Option 3.

Although I would prefer a combo of 1 and 3... I actually like the full name that BMW gave the car... I originally thought it was a bit awkward but it's grown on me...

Check this thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=544689

You should be able to figure it out based on your VIN #

I'm looking into CNC Milling as well. I have a feeling it may be a bit more pricey but I'm a perfectionist so I'm looking to make it as close to that render in the first post as possible. If you're going to pay good money, you want the best for your car.

There's a couple of companies in the US that I have to contact for CNC milling and see what they say. Will post here what feedback I get

Yep, I mentioned in an earlier post that you can use fugitive glue, glue dots or even light double-sided tape would work. Once this plaque is ready to go I'll include some with it for everyone.

Good combo, forgot that one, but that's what the custom option is for It's nice to see a lot of people interested in this. There's still a lot of work to do but I'm on top of it.

I'll update the first post with everyone that's interested and whenever I manage to finalize this plaque, I'll get in touch with each of you on how you want it, or you can just post here.

These look awesome. My only note would be not to call it a limited edition because while the 1m was extremely limited, it technically was not a limited edition car and never promoted as so from BMW.

I agree with the technicality but in countries like Australia it is not possible to say "XXX of XXX" as there's no way to work out what number you are...

Also, Although the US kept getting their quota updated periodically due to demand, we received exactly 300 of them so "Limited Edition" is not that much of a stretch...

agreed, however the car was introduced as a 'limited production' model by BMW. Originally, if I'm not mistaken, they had said they would make 3000 only (globally). That number of course went up over time but it was still definitely a 'limited production' car so it still qualifies for the title of 'Limited' IMO. The US market was a bit more open ended but other markets as Harlequin stated were give a specific number where distribution ended.

The great thing about this is that it's fully customizable. I'll be designing them for you to your liking. So whether you want to say limited or not, I can put anything you want.

Another suggestion would be putting your VIN # instead of a XXX / XXX. At least you know your VIN is accurate. And you can put the last seven digits, up to you.

I like the idea of the VIN...

OP, great initiative and that you're allowing 'to each their own': Since this is not an official BMW plaque and BMW forgot to label the 1M as 'limited edition', now individuals can rectify this for themselves.

Canada has the metric FIFO system; since you bought last, you're #220 out of 220!

Not doubting the car is rare or limited. Just noting it is not technically a limited edition from bmw. Nothing wrong with valuing it as one or making the plaque to say so. Plaques look awesome and can't wait to see photos of them in the cars.
