My friend has a set and is much lighter than the rep wheels people normally get. Cheapest way of getting into a semi forged wheel.

Resale sucks on them though so expect to lose all your money if you ever want to sell them.

I had a set of Koya BS-Tek on my previous Nissan S15 and they were excellent. Very well made and underrated in my opinion.

Shit I just looked up the prices on eBay and for that price I might get myself a new set of wheels... Seems like they do all bolt patterns and custom offsets as well.

Edit: Just had a look at some of the sizes and stuff. The customs sizes and offsets aren't optimal for the rear of a non-M E8x series car. Our optimal max width wheel/tyre combo is an 18x9.5 ET60 but best they can do is probably an 18x9ET43 which is quite aggressive. You wouldn't fit much more than a 245 PSS on there I think.

Yeah I did see those but unfortunately a 9" rim is a bit too small for the rear for me. Also I had a previous set of forgestar 18x9 ET 50 wheels which had been shaved to ET56 and they still rubbed with 265 AD08Rs with rolled guards.

I have attended most of the WTA recently am always interested in the latest wheels.
Was actually going to compete in the State NSW round at Wakefield but it got cancelled 2016.

Re: Koya wheels, they have lifted their game recently.

I spoke to the Asian rep for a while this month. The custom offset is very appealing especially as I want to run 265 on the back and 245 at the front.

Know of one case of broken rims at QLD raceway a while back. Think they were drifteks but quality has improved since then.

I am leaning towards Enkei though.
Used plenty of Jap wheels in the past with zero issues.

I mentioned it before but may as well just bite the bullet and do the rear hub mod to decrease the hub offset by 10mm. Then you'd have a wider wheel selection

Koya have lifted their game with semi forged wheels but at the end of the day they're a bunch of cheap skates who steal the best designs from renowned wheel manufacturers and make a crappier version of it. Always get what you pay for and you can't go wrong with full forged wheels from Japan.. Fork out that little bit more and you have a much better set of genuine wheels and won't have to cop flack about running replica wheels lol.

Would much rather a set of rays or enkei's as opposed to these wheels..

Yes a normal 3 series hub is 10mm less offset.

Its a big cost but if you've dumped $20k+ of mods into your 1er you may as well shell out the extra coin to be able to fit decent wheels on there. If you can score a 2nd hand bargain on lightweight forged 3 series wheels you may end up saving money overall over buying new custom offset wheels (not that most of them even go as far as ET60 on the rears anyway)

Had a look at the Koya range and even with the 10mm narrow hubs you'd still need an 18x 9.5 ET 50-52 to maximise the space that is there which they don't offer. Closest is in a 9" width wheel which is doable, but not optimal for a 265 tyre, especially when racing.

In the end, we still really going to have to go custom or a different brand of wheel if we want to maximise the space unless you're happy with running a narrower tyre and stretching a bit and finding a factory wheel.
