Just bought a 2008 BMW 135i, few questions, need help!
I have recently pulled the trigger on the following (premium package):
http://rogersmotors.autotrader.ca/us...7ee49fd02d.htm Before signing the final papers on Monday to pick up the car, I wanted to ask you fellow forum members a few questions. Sorry I am very noob about BMWs. The car is a automatic. The sales rep showed me the CarProof and records looked clean with 72k on it. But is there anything particular I should be looking at for my 2008 135i, for example was there any flaws during that year of production? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! CarProof: http://reports.carproof.com/main?id=...CLcf7Yrg%3d%3d Last edited by ericxd; 06-23-2012 at 02:23 PM.. |

Lots of recalls and TSB
Hpfp Tail lights 3rd brake light Seat belt insulation Fuel injectors Window motors I would give VIN to a BMW dealer and make sure all the recalls are done. Could be expensive maintenance-wise when out of warranty. |

I have little to back this up, but I think 2008 was the first year for the 135i in NA. I know that Consumer's Reports lists the 2008 MY (but not the following years) as a poor used car bet. For my money I would avoid a used 2008 unless it was being sold by a BMW dealer with a CPO warranty in place (even then, I might still pass on it and get a later year).
Not an expert, YMMV.

So if I put 1k down but didn't put the final signature on paper, can I still back out and get my deposit back? |

The 2008 did not have any significant issues than any other model year. The HPFP is a known issue on all N54 engines, yet BMW chose this over the N55 for the 1M.
I would want to know if the car had ever had a tune on it. And when was the in service date? If it is still under BMW warranty (it is less than 80,000 km - but is it still less than 4 years since the in-service date?) - you can get extended warranty on the car. It looks like a nice ride - although it doesn't have the sport seats or trim. |

risky
Its had 14 trips to the dealer in 3 years; that should be a red flag.
$29K out the door assumes that includes taxes but its still too much Could loose your deposit if you want to back out. Really need get extended warranty, almost mandatory Have you checked how much your insurance will be? Who will be your mechanic? He should inspect before buying. I work at a car auction; the best cars don't go there. Mike Miller and I recommend BMW CPO cars or buying privately. |

Not gonna lie, you guys are really giving me second thoughts about this. The car drove well but what do I know...I'm confused. If I back out, doubt I can get my 1000 back -_-
