Guess the part

Hey guys,

I just pulled out of my driveway, heard a "clink" than a "clank" and then found this in my drivers rim. Any guess what it's for? Looks like something cut into it but I can't figure out where it goes. Looked at passenger side for an identical one but no luck.

Seems like some kind of hose/wiring clip, but most of those are plastic on these cars. The fact it is so beat up, maybe you picked it up on the road and it was just stuck somewhere?

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that might be the case. It is pretty worn looking and different from all the other aluminum parts under the car. Almost looks like a truck cap rail bracket or something.

Odd thing is, where was it lodged and how did I not hear it?!?
