I did this mod a couple of weeks ago using the lego method. It's an easy way to save a few bucks, plus the legos were perfectly designed for this I didn't have an opportunity to road test yet, but I'm sure the fogs will come in handy in bad weather, especially with the way this car stops.

i got this mod but didn't order it through Andy here.

the euro switch i received had 2 buttons for the fog lights: 1 for front and 1 for rear. of course, the rear works but since the 135 doesn't have fog lights, can't turn on the front fog light but when i turn it on, the front fog light indicator does come on.

just wanted to share that.

Not sure if the question has been answered yet (and I havn't had a chance to dive under and look myself) but are 135's wired for fogs? I would imagine all Ones have a common harness, but you never know......

i bought up this topic before in the general discussion section and ppl just kept saying you can't put fog lights in on 135i but they totally missed my question.

my question was similar to yours... which was asking if the 128 and 135 have the same harness and the front fog lights are prewired already.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9479

you can read how that thread went.

I think you would need to remove the front bumper and see if the wiring is on the 135. Since the instrument cluster is pre-wired for it, I suspect that means that the chances are good that BMW used one harness and they are sitting in there.

So does the swtich for the 128 have an extra button for the front fogs? I have a 135, but will probably buy the 128 switch b/c that extra button may become useful in the future.

The 128 switch has a button for the front fogs and one for the rear.

Got the switch and installed, unfortunately I got a defected switch. Seems like the rear fog light button malfunction because the switch works, but no rear fog light on and indication on when I press the rear fog button. (I set my headlight on, not auto).

Andy, can I get a replacement?

Just finished my install. Cool mod for those that find themselves in the fog. The hardest part was getting the module out of the trim panel and then putting the new one in. At first it didn't work. I plugged the old original back in and it didn't work. Tried the new on again....bingo, works like a champ. Instructions say not to have the key in the ignition....what if you have CA. I left my key in the house when I did it just in case, but when I had issues with it working I had the key right there with me. :iono:

I just installed the 128 Switch in the my 135i - Andy's service and turn around time totally rocks - Recommend him highly.

I had no issues at all - Opened door, took keys inside, had couple of coffees - did the swap using Andy's supplied instructions.
