After looking at the PPK Install Instructions PDF that was posted, I noticed that is says Renew spark plugs on automobiles built before 3/09 or with more than 45k miles (Page 7). I have read that 45k miles they have to be changed, but why on cars built before 3/09?

Yeah I don't know either and I think my tech was pretty befuddled by it too. Anyway, I might get the car back today and I hope everything works ok, including the radio!

The SA told me that they started using a different plug after 3/09.

I received my 2011 back from the dealer with the software flash without issue. My local dealer did the install for $750.

As for my impressions, I was hoping for a little bit better throttle response, but that's ok. I will say, I wasn't expecting a hugely noticeable power increase, so my expectations were tempered as such. Either way, I definitely do notice the increased power from about 2000rpm on seemingly, there's nice extra grunt in the mid-range. It's expensive, but I'm pretty happy with it.

FWIW- I had my 08 done a few days ago. Car has 27K miles and they did not change the plugs. They did put a sticker next to the "BMW Power Kit Installed" that says "vehicle is equipt with performance kit, change plugs every 45K miles".
I was under the impression it was to have new plugs at time of PPK install, but I guess the existing plugs were fine. Anyway, the additional power feels great, and the power delivery is soooo smooth.

Finally got my car back yesterday. Everything seems to work fine including the radio, and though I haven't had much of a chance to drive it yet, it did seem to pull even harder in certain gears and rpms.

Also, I got a 20% discount on the software from my dealer because I'm a BMW car club member and 20% off the install too, because of a promotion they were running. So total cost was $600...not too bad for an extra 20hp!

Dropped off the car today for the PPK install and the dealer didn't order the software.

Gonna be an extra 2-3 days.

I got 10% from the Dealer on mine. Gotta remember that CCA membership and ask for that discount.
In any case, good job!

My dealer almost botched this too, they originally thought I just needed the appointment made. Luckily, I had time prior to my appointment for them to straighten this out with the parts dept.

Thanks! I was pretty stoked about it, but I was without my car for a week, so I guess I paid for it in other ways!

I guess I'll live as long as they do it right. I don't mind pimping a 328i all weekend it has a comfy ride.

I went through the dealer but then only one person knew what I was talking about as my car is the second they have done.

As my car had the HPFP replaced before I purchased it, does this kit put the motor back to where it was when it was first launched? I have read from others that after the fuel pump change they felt they had lost power.

Had a 328 as a loaner while the programming was done and IMO the interior of the 1 is better designed than the 3 as the 1 is more like a cockpit.

Oh and yes I luv the results of the kit.

Set my appointment to have mine installed on Black Friday. Very excited. My dealership has been saying that even w the BMWCCA membership they won't do a discount because its already discounted till the end of the year... any idea what I can say to maybe change their minds?

Don't know if it will help, but tell them you know of other dealers who have given the car club discount. It's worth a shot at least!

Got my car back today so far so good, haven't had a chance to open her up but the throttle response is way better and the exhaust pop is back.
