Aaaaaaarrrggghh..... my first rattle!!

Driving home last night i noticed a slight tick or tap in the rear left hand side of the car!!
Tried turning the radio off and leaning backwards to see if i could trace it, but it was dark and i was in danger of crashing!!
Anybody else had this? Know what it is ? How did you resolve it? What did the dealers do?
It seems to be intermittent which is even more frustrating as im gonna struggle to demonstrate it.
However it does seem to happen when slowing down from 60-70mph+ and going over uneven surface, ie - potholes, cats eyes, road paint etc......
Please help, this is ruining my driving experience!!!

I dont hear a rattle, but I do think at times on my drivers door, it pops, close to the door lock I hear a noise. When I put my elbow up there it seems like it pops down, very weird.
