I love when folks say they've had too many issues with their 1er and they're done with BMW, but, maybe get a 2002tii.

Lol. Like that's gonna be less of a money pit. Lol

+1!

Two guys at work have old 7 series. Something breaks on them almost weekly.

It's a whole different ballgame. The 2002 is simple and very easy to work on. Sure, stuff will fail, but it's usually far cheaper and easier to fix. I had the coil go bad on mine a few years ago - changing it was maybe $40 and 10 minutes. The only thing that will cost real money on a 2002 is body work; though prices for some mechanical components are rising fast recently, it's still generally a lot cheaper than a modern BMW.

I've had mine for about 24 years and probably ~75k miles at this point, so I have a reasonably good idea what they're like to live with.

I can accept that. Coil might not be he best example though. When I had stock coils I could replace them in about 2 minutes on the N54. Not quite $40 cheap, but not exactly a hard job. Still, message received.

That is being over generous. I would not at all be surprised if the idiot was on her phone. Here in the DC area this is a daily occurance. It is way worse when you ride a motorcycle to work every day. I have a very loud horn, and am always watching for morons!

Same thing happened to me last night.

Luckily didn't hit the other car or the curb.

There's a big difference between a weekend car and a daily. My e30 never ran into this many problems and I daily that thing for a few years. Haven't even had the 1er for more then 5 years and it cost thousands.

Of course. Did she happen to be blonde, too?
