I'm sorry, but if this thing is going to be a base of $33-35k, plus $5k in options, you are going to be $41-42+ with tax etc..out the door. That is insane...HEAR THAT BMW!!! Might as well keep my M3 and boost it, just hold onto it. Because that would be crazy.

2007 E92 328i  [10.00]
2007 328i  [10.00]
My sales manager at my dealership has consistantly said:

128i--$27-28K
135i--$35-36K

Those were both figures that were "base". Since we now know the M package will come standard on the 135, that doesn't seem too bad. But he also said if you want things like I-drive, real leather, etc, that you were going to be approaching 40K OTD easily.

Makes sense to me. If you get those things on a 328i, you are looking at low to mid 40's, and on a 335 you are approaching 50K. I love the people who say "if the 1 is at 38 or 39K, I might as well get a 335". Keep in mind, that on a lease, every 1K difference is about $35 a month in additional payment. So that $3-4K in difference is about $115-$150 a month in additional payments. Still look like a "small" difference?

Keep dreaming folks--the 335 E92 is BMW's hottest ride right now--that POTENTIAL 3K difference everyone is talking about is for a STRIPPED down version of the 335, which doesn't exist unless you order it that way. Good luck getting a spot in line too. I know this from experience, having ordered TWO E92's since October. Good luck geting a dealer to move on the price too--they can't make the E92's fast enough. Sure, any moron can get $500 over invoice on a E90, but not on an E92.

And the average person who would want the 135 with all the M equipment is not going to be satisfied with a base 335 with no sport package, etc. People tend to forget those things.

And for the record, my E92 328i was $38,800--and all I got was ZSP and heated seats. The 135, with all the shit coming standard on it, is not going to be a bargain. You can bet your ass on that.

E92s are currently not that big of a seller @ our Center. The E93 is the big seller these days. It varies from market to market.

I think the 128i will be priced from $28,000-$33,000. depending on equipment, and the 135i $35,000-$39,000. depending on equipment. If they price the 128i to low they will get into Mini sales. I know they are two different cars, but the fact still remains that they are sold out of the same dealerships, and they might lose some sales if priced to closely. The price for the 135i is still under the base price for the 335i of $41,000.00

i spoke with a military sales rep, and i was told that the 135i through them would be 29k to start out and to plan on it starting at 33k in the states.

So throw in Sports Package, Paddle shift and Heated seats it will be well under 35k for me to order it before i return to the states

i voted for the 135 to start at 33k i reallly think it will be 33,9 for a base, BASE, model no options. just 2 turbos, 6 speed, white paint and big brakes is all i'm going for and need. and as far as working at a dealership and getting discounts, i know where i work if it's a brand new model then every employee (apart from the owner) has to pay full MSRP when they are first released, this only changes when there is enough of the product laying around that they are able to give employee discounts, and i work for a HUGE dealership not some mom and pop place. at the end of the day we are talking about a fairly small difference in price, a couple of grand is not that much when your already spending 34-35.

The problem that I have with this $37k price talk, is the way the car comes equipped.

I could see the 135i basing at $37k, if it came standard with leather & sport seats, but with their standard grandma seats covered in pleather, that price is just plain stupid!

No other premium car manufacturer plays this kind of game. When you get close to $40k for a small cupoe like the 135i, you should expect it to include the good stuff!

I am looking at the Sport Package Paddle Shifters Comfort Access and Heated Seats.. now if the difference between the Base 135i and 335i is only 3 p4 k i Might aswell get the 335,

So its gotta be atleast 5 -6 k less it only makes sense, I mean look at the diff in price between the 335 and the 535 there is more difference between the two but it still the same idea.

Hello A1C Lindner,

Thank you for your reply

The 1 Series will launch Spring of 2008 for the US market, so we expect pricing and specs from BMW at that time. We are accepting pre-orders using estimated base pricing of

128i Coupe $24,000
135i Coupe $29,000
128i Convertible $31,000
135 Convertible $32,000

A minimum deposit of $1,000 will be required which will order and build yours.
