BMW High Pressure Fuel Pump recall Vin #s

Hello,

I am the owner of a 2011 BMW 1 series that recently had my High Pressure Fuel Pump fail.

My VIN number did not qualify me for an extended warrantee and I had to pay out of pocket according to BMW canada.

The HPFP part number that was removed from my car was 135 17 616 170-03 (production date April 2010 to November 2010).

I am asking the forum members both US and Canada to provide me with some additional information. Specifically:

1. If you had your fuel pump replaced under warrantee and you are a 2010 vehicle.

2. What is your vehicles VIN number ?

3. What was the part number removed with and replaced with?

I must demonstrate to BMW Canada that 2010 MY vehicles were included for a HPFP replacement, replacing the same part number 135 17 616 170-03 (production date April 2010 to November 2010) and my 2011 car was left out. This demonstrates an administrative error on BMW's part where as my part should be eligible for replacement.

please provide me with your vehicles VIN and part numbers removed from the car to assist in my cause.

HDHP on my 2008 135i was replaced today by BMW under extended warranty.

I am not sure the extended warranty applies to all countries. I read somewhere that BMW extended it in the US because of a class action lawsuit they lost. I could be wrong.

I have a 2011 135i (2010 production) and the dealer replaced my HPFP and LPFP outside of warrenty period. I was ready to do it out of pocket. Not sure if the dealer was just nice or they did it based on their internal part number(?) since the car was not a part of the recall.

I have a 2011 135i with a 2010 production date as well. Wonder if I'll get the same treatment at my dealer?

I went in for an error code (I can't remember the exact code) for fuel pressure too low. Before I went to the dealership, I replaced the LPFP myself since I also had long crank issue and I thought it was not expensive part to rule out. My SA told me that my car wasn't covered in the HPFP recall. I asked them to fix the issue any way and I told the dealer that I had already ruled out LPFP. As part of the diagnostic, they replaced the LPFP anyway (I believe there was a recall on this also for newer cars but my car wasn't in that list either; they gave me back the upgraded LPFP that I put in). After that, they fixed the issue by replacing the HPFP.

My lesson learned: NEVER run low on fuel!
