experiance after 200 miles
...so picked up my 128i vert last friday. In 5 days put 200 miles on it.
First impressions... + Speed, cant believe anyone really needs the 135. I only have the step 6 speed and feel even that can get me into trouble. Almost got a speeder on "Day 1" of "Year One of the of 1" Total fun car to drive. Like no other vehicle Ive owned or driven. You get such a close up feeling and feed back of road in a refined way. Have a 3 but the 1 is a lot more fun for some reason. But must say think the 325xi handles better on the curves. Steering wheel is awesome. Ventilation system is awesome Love the pass thru system in the vert Love the one touch windows up down button Love the blue tooth Love the rear back-up sensors I sorta like the side view mirrors, like the tilt option too. Yeah I didnt get the manual, but wife has to drive it once in a while.. but the step 6 speed is totally fun to drive. Next best to manual. Great vert top, feels like a hard top closed, really quiet, little slow but can live with it. Style; still getting used to the pot belly but it doesnt look as bad at different angles and lighting. Front and rear angles of car is so hot. side angle in different lighting is ok, best is not dead on door angle. Attention; cool how every other car owner on the road is checking out my ride from corvettes, 3-5-6-7-z-x bimmers, mini's, mustang vert owners look bewildered, 3 series verts owners sorta look intrigued but pissed, miata owners look lost, etc. now minuses. Everyone is checking out my car. Guess I now know how it feel to be a celeb.(for a little while anyway)sometimes feel I should hide the car when parked so it wont draw a crowd. flimsy arm rest should of got the sports package just for the seats. seats are only ok. Should of got the upgraded stereo. Standard is only good, needs more bass. Really should have adjustable headrests. Speed factor, you do not feel how fast you are going. Doing 60mph without knowing it.(aint such a bad thing tho:wink Dont mind the run flats yet, feels pretty good but well see. After all said and done, seems my 04 325xi has a lot less issues but... Im driving the 1 for now on, giving the 3 to the so called better half. Later. bski:roundel: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/1316/331008ws0.jpg 128i vert black saphire metallic terra brown boston leather burl wood trim premium cold package i pod YEARONEOF1:headbang: |

Think, not thing I assume? Check your tire pressures. Most often BMWs are delivered with tires way overinflated (come that way from the factory). Ultimately, there's no way a skinny-tire 325xi will out handle the nimble 135i. Perhaps the tires on your 325xi are providng better grip at the moment??? Again, check the pressures.

Oops. Still, could be down to perceived grip. I must confess I have no idea what compromises BMW made with the verts, and what the shortcomings are with the 128i suspension. But the x-drive BMWs have their balance and weight issues too, along with less wide wheels and OEM all-season rubber (jack of all trades, master of none).

..as mentioned seems like my 325xi is a bit more "sticky" on the curves.
Still the 1 is so much fu*ken fun to drive. Truly the favorate car Ive ever owned....loved it today when came back to my car and saw two little kids faces pressed up against the window, checking it out. I better take it easy, tho,you do 70 without even touching the accelerator. You 135 people are a sick bunch! By the way, i dont have the sport option on the xi, me thinks the awd helps big time holding the road. still gotta check the pressure. 128i saphire black vert premium 6speed step,(yeah, i live in nyc too much traffic for manual) terra brown boston int |

Im feeling as you say the punch kick goes in anytime between 40-60 mph in auto. Probably around 2.5-3.5 rpm's.
Seems you have to be a little agressive with the gas pedal to get it to kick down. Still babying it as its bit as its new. later :roundel: P |
