According to RealOEM.com some 2013, 125i's had EPS.
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...BMW-125i&mg=32 For most 128i's and 135i's there were only two steering systems/options. Hydraulic steering and Active(AFS) steering. Active steering varies the steering ratio depending on vehicle speed. You don't have to move(rotate) the steering wheel as much at slower speeds, but the wheels move at a greater angle - than when the car is up to speed. I think also the ActivE(all electric 1er coupe) also had EPS as standard. Dackel

MY 2013 128i's did not have the option for active steering. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9...m5HLTEzWnFIRnM Page 4, Option 217 I originally found out that 125i's could be had with EPS when I noticed the absence of a power steering fluid reservoir in some engine bay pictures and later confirmed it through RealOEM.

OP is asking about a 128i, though. And all 128i's in the US had HPS.
