Tire size help

Hey everyone, I blew out my front rft on my 135i. I have stock wheels (215/40/18)/(245/35/18) and I found a guy selling his RFT tires from his Mini Cooper (225/45/18). Will these fit my front wheels?

215/35/18 or 225/35/18. Tires for the 135i in stock sizes have limited options, but any tire shop should not have any issue getting some.

So you can go up 10 in front? Same rule apply for the rears?

225/40/18 up front and 225/35/18 in the rears is the most on factory offsets without rubbing.

Oops, so did I. Exhausted after a 12 hour day of doing tires.

215/40 or 225/40 in the front.

Basically, you can go 10mm wider front and rear while keeping the same aspect ratio.

That's what I have in the rear on stock size wheels.

I have:

Front - 18x7.5 (stock size) wheel 225/40/18 (upsize) tire
Rear - 18x8.5 (stock size) wheel 255/35/18 (upsize) tire

Is there any repercussions to running 225 front and 245 rear? I just need a pair for the front and that's the best I can find for matching tires

I just put the 225/245 RE050a combo on my Cabrio and I’m really happy with the handling and improvement in ride. This size should have been on the car from the factory.

Yeah, a bit less understeer. 225 and 245 is what the M240i has from the factory anyway.

I'm 225/45ZR17 all the way 'round. Wheels are 1/2" wider than stock, same offsets.
You should be able to run slightly wider tires on the same rims.

Anyone tried 255/35 upfront?

I'm currently on 225/40 18 and 255/35. Would much rather get a square setup on 255 or even go wider (275/30 maybe) on the rear

225 is the max for front without fender rolling. Even then you're probably maxing at 235. You'd need a wide body to fit 255 up front. Right now I have 225 front and 265 in the rear

I've got 225 and it sits so tucked in... will it really rub on the fender if it's 10mm wider?
Have you tried it?

I'm think I should try putting the rears upfront and going for a ride around the block to see what happens... stupid and guaranteed to rub?

Edit: I don't want to go 265 because I want the tires all around to be the same diameter. Not larger in the rear (making the rear sit taller).

235 fits on the apex 1 series staggered wheels with 1M front control arms. It'd probably fit without the arms.

On a 8.5" inch wheel 255 width is a pretty easy fit. You need camber plates. 9" inch wheel rubs but the half inch is worth it. Do some research on it
