Hello. My name's James and I just signed onto this forum. I recently purchased a 135i Coupe from BMW Encinitas and Ill be picking it up this Friday:thumbup:. Its my first new car since I bought my Impreza back in 2000. I have to say I was very impressed with this car when I test drove it. I swore never to drive an auto but when I saw that there was no turbo lag, plus the quickness of the shifts, and the fact that this one blips for you when downshifting I was sold! I tried to stay true to Subaru and test drove the new STI but was left unimprezed. The price was too high IMO for the build quality plus I already have a 350hp Subaru.
I look forward to learning more about the car and I see already the vast resources available on this forum. It will only be a matter of time before I start modding the car. Of course my wife will be driving it as well so I cant get too crazy! Just a few pics I snapped yesterday. Car doesn't look too bad parked next to my brother's M6. Like an eager puppy trying to roll with the big dogs! |

My other cars....
This is my Nissan Primera. It just sits in a garage in greece waiting for me. The motor is from a JDM Pulsar GTIR and puts out around 260 whp. This was the best handling FWD 4 door in its day.
This is my 2001 Impreza RS. This was the best impreza offered in the US before the WRX craze. Its powered by a 2004 STI 2.5 turbo and is almost 400lbs lighter than the new STI's (power/weight FTW). Last edited by jwalker; 09-22-2009 at 02:45 PM.. |

Hello and welcome to 1addicts jwalker! Your line-up of cars is rather impressive. First off is the RS for sale? And second what color and options does the 1'er have?

Thanks and I Definately will NEVER sell the Subaru!!!
As for the 135. Its in Sparkling graphite metallic w Black Boston leather and aluminum trim. I found one in Fresno that I was able to settle on (rather than order mine from Leipzig) and had it trucked down to Encinitas. It comes with Premium and Sport packages / I-pod adapter / Steptronic w M sport wheel+paddles / Navigation / comfort access... no Sat Radio though. The i-6 and an exhaust should be music enough for now Last edited by jwalker; 09-27-2009 at 02:03 PM.. |

Thanks and your lucky to live in MA....I wish Cali wasnt the smog gestapo of the US. Otherwise Id have a gt35r kit installed! Im wanting to keep it registered and streetable so Im limited to bolt ons. Cobb catless TB and st.2 map. My scoob's down getting the motor/heads rebuilt as we speak. Should be bullet proof after its done. In the mean time Im still breaking in the 1 and loving it more everyday!

Looks like there was a TSB for the middle brake light. Apparently there's springs behind the mounting points that can cause cracking if over torqued. Service replaced them with spacers and a new lamp assembly.

small update...
BMW performance exhaust ordered.
Looking at maybe getting some new wheels. After seeing the BMW performance wheels in person I think I like them...Perhaps I would get them powdercoated black??? Or perhaps BBS's in black??? |

Same color combo as ours. My wife loves it even more with the JB2, BMS intake & H&R springs. I can't complain. Oh wait...it's her car. But i drive it more. Have fun.

Same situation here. I bought it for the wife just after we got married. Of course like all my cars it's only a matter of time before I start tinkering. I only wish that I didnt have the 100k warranty because Im limited in what mods I can do to the car. But then again I have the Subaru as my Tuner-Track-Monkey so I'll survive LOL! |
