Water spots (on paint)

Well, let me first start off by saying this is a first. Usually I'm very careful not to forget to check my Mr. clean spotless filter. So, I have a jet black 128 and I washed my car like usual. Then, I sprayed it down with the spot free rinse and went inside. To my dismay when I came out, water spots.........EVERYWHERE. Turns out the filter was empty What zaino product would remove these spots? They have 2000000 products and I ordered the wash, z6, accelerator and the clear coat polish. What would I get to help take these spots out?

Depending on how long you leave them sit you could remove them with another wash. If not it will take a random orbital and a light cleansing polish.

First I would try quick detailing it if it's still clean. Another wash may remove the waterspots as well. Then I would try a chemical cleaning polish and if that doesn't work you will have to start using abrasive polishes.

does zaino have a chemical cleaning polish? Also, I started researching, do I need to wash my car down with dawn then redo everything? Or wash my car with dawn then do the swirl type removing polish? Thanks for the info everyone, still open to advice!?!? I work from 8-9 mon-sat. Sunday is the next day off

Zaino makes an all in one cleaner, polish but it dosen't not contain any abrasives which may not be strong enough. It is hard to determine if that will be enough depending on how much damage was caused by the water spots. After work try the quick detailer before they have time to do any more etching, that might fix your problem. If you have a layer of zaino polish on the car the water spots should not have caused any significant damage and should come off with the detailer and or normal car wash formula.

Well I know it couldnt have caused too much damage, I have only had the car 2 weeks and the spots were there today, however, I attempted to wash them off and it did not come off with water or car wash, So I think I am going to need their cleaner

You might want to check out autogeeks.net search for water filter. For around $130 you can have a complete water filtration system. It will make it impossible to have waterspots as long as you keep the filters recharged. (Unlike Mr.Clean autodry all the water is filtered not just the final layer)

have the same issue with my car currently... Just relocated, and didn't have the chance to wash my car for a whole month while waiting for all my cleaning supplies to arrive from storage.

That said, my car has all sorts of large water spots that would not come off after wash, quick detail, and clay bar.

At this point, I think the etching has set in pretty well. Would Chemical Guys Water Spot remover work for this? Or should I just be looking at more extreme options at this point? Car was waxed back in early September ... makes me so sad to see my car end up like this after all the effort to keep it looking good!

The water spots will etch into the clear coat. Chemical guys water spot remover is one of the best products to remove water spots. However, the paint still may need to be polished.

I recommend Menzerna po106ff, and start with a white pad.

Thanks, John. Can you ellaborate a little bit on the polishing? I've never done this before... what exactly does this entail? what basic steps should be taken to get to the point of being ready to polish? when polishing, will I need an electric buffer, etc? Just want to see how deep I need to go in removing this and make sure all my bases are covered before diving in.

I use MX7, that stuff gets everything off your car and makes it mirror finish, you have to use some elbow grease, and be careful on your hood, if you aren't careful it will get so smooth and you will smash your face on your car when you slip and look like a retard in front of the hot chick that lives next to you. which is ok if she feels sorry for you and you fake injury and she has to take care of you, then takes you out for beers.

Was your car protected with something like Zaino? If so - the water spots may not have harmed the paint to begin with. Lesson learned, I suppose.
