I do cuss sometimes in order to punctuate. However, I was told my grandmother, aunt and mother that swearing is for people with limited vocabulary and who don't read books.

Well...I'm not going to start virtue signaling. I cuss and I started young.

I was about eleven years old, and my dad was showing me how to remove a tire using one of those spider lug wrenches. One of the bolts was seized and would not budge so out of frustration, I jumped on the wrench with everything I had and at the same time belted "OH FOR FUCK SAKE" and it came loose...as mum was walking by. Name: scared0016.gif

Needless to say, I got a stern reprimand. But told her that "Dad said that cussing can help things done and look mommy...It worked. She just rolled her eyes and left. As soon as she was out of sight, high five from dad. My dad liked to live dangerously.

As long as it's not part of a continuous habit, a little cussing to yourself to relieve frustrations, is cheaper than the couch at your local shrink.

I've had a foul mouth ever since I could remember. My mom slapped me in the face many times because of it and washed my mouth with soap more times than I care to remember. To me it's a harmless emotional release and a way to express a point.

In my younger years I didn't care that much but in my older years I must admit I do care. I don't always let loose with bad language anymore, especially around respectable people that it might offend.

In addition to a few f-bombs and s-bombs every day, I also flip off my TV
when I see certain mugs on it. 🤪

Your dad knew that cussing is proper use of the mental blowoff valve (dump valve or compressor bypass valve) to reduce pressure in the human intake system. To be distinguished from the physical blowoff valves.

And when very angry: afterburner.

I well remember when I returned home from Vietnam in early ‘70 and
separated from the Army. It was very difficult adjusting back to civilian
life. I quit smoking hours before arriving home. That was the easy one.
Curtailing cussing in polite company was difficult. When I knocked on the
door of my folks house it had only been 3 days since I was on duty with my
team in the field. Three whole days. No time to decompress. Little chance
to talk with anyone on the way home, just pure culture shock. My saving
grace was my beautiful bride of 12.2 months.

To set the record straight, I’m bald, not receding.

First time I’ve been on Facebook in what feels like a decade to sell an inherited car at Blue Book value with a line of folks trying to buy, I wake up to this…

Reply suggestion:

"The car was manufactured in times when quality still mattered and good parents used to raise their children with moral values such as respect and courtesy."
