Then you are limited to 235/40/17 all round.
I believe you can run as high as ET 47 all round with 17 x 8s, if that is correct, you have the ability to pick up some used E36, E46, E90, Z3 and some Z4 wheels even (if you find 17x8s ET 47s). But 245 are going to be pushing it (IMO) on 8" wide wheels, some people get away with it, and it probably depends on the tire brand. |

Hence why i, and others, aim for 8.5" wheels. So we can mount 235 all round and if we would like to install 245s in the future, wheels are good to go.

What ended up being the consensus here? Will a 17x8.5 ET40 fit without rear fender work with narrowish 245s? I have plenty of camber up front so I am less concerned about the fronts. The LTW5s I'm looking at don't come in a higher offset and I'd rather not do the hub swap if I can avoid it.

Aside from a supercharger, I would love to be able to see 270 to the wheels as it would make this car ridiculously fun! Just wondering. I don't track my car, but didn't know if you guys that did were sitting on an "insider" secret. |

TBH the market for the E82 is sadly bad here in Germany, trying to sell the car the last 2 months without any serious offer till now. |

I took 4+ months looking for an Alpine White, 6 speed, sport seats, bare-bones car with the N52. Still had to settle for a sunroof, but I was okay with it. I have a 3 stage intake, AA catless headers, and a set of MILVS waiting to go on followed by a custom BPC tune. I'm hoping to see 240-250 at the wheels. Aside from that....look at ways of weight reduction or the old supercharger route. As for the 135's, there are quite a bit being dumped around here that are about at the 80K-90k mile mark. And most cars you can tell never had any maintenance done to them. These guys are trying to get rid of them because of a problem, or one that is usually coming. I would have loved a 135, but since this would be my daily.....I got the 128i. I already have 1 very fun car, so I needed one that would be practical.....but still be an enjoyment to drive. |

In Germany, these cars are VERY popular in racing (the E90 series) and engines are left bone stock (272hp) due to rules and regulations. Going as far back as the E36 the engine is always kept bone stock (again due to rules). Which is why the E82 125i never saw any form of racing, due to the 1,500-ish weight to start and 217 hp. I wish i knew this earlier, i love the E82, but what i want to do with it is not feasible honestly, it must sadly go. |

Hello there. I am new to this and my apologies to bother. I have recently purchased a 2008 BMW 135i to use it on open track days. The car came with 18" VMR wheels. It has a staggered setup with front: 215/40 R18 and rear: 245/35 R18. I have been researching lately for the best/most affordable tire options for the tracks. My plan is to move from 18 to 17 inch wheels and get competition tires that are dot approved. Options like Falken Azenis RT615k+ or Nankang Ns-2r. I have read that you have a square setup using 225/45 R17 all around. Is that on a stock suspension? is there any rubbing? Thanks a lot for your time! |

Perfect! I totally agree with what you have said on the 215s. I have read good reviews on the Azenis. I will give them a try the next time I change tires too. Good luck and thanks a lot! |

So, looking at a track only set up on a 128.
I am leaning towards the 18x9 ET42 Apex wheels with 255/35/18 RS4 or R888R square. Anyone running this setup? Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 03-02-2021 at 08:14 AM.. |

You are going to need a spacer up front and maybe a little more offset in the rear, unless you are going to touch your fenders.

Thanks! Will be running about -3.5 front and -2.5 rear, so camber should be fine.

The 18x9 et42 fits the unmodified rear perfect if you do the E9x rear hubs. I actually ran a 3mm spacer just to fill the gap a bit.
