I thought you were saying that the AA flash got you to pass emission illegally.
Technically tampering with emissions equipment is illegal & a federal crime. Owning a car with modified emissions equipment isn't(I bought it like this, etc, etc). Some states make it a crime to own a car with modified emissions, it all varies by state.

This is why my car is for "off road" use only.

Just jumped on the SS bandwagon. St|g driving, 631 and me on the look out lol. Assuming it'll take few months to get here but that's ok. Best of all I just moved to NY so I reached out to AA to send me an updated "off road" tune. The extra 15-20whp will really help the Z on the main straights on the road courses I hit up.

AA software and headers on e90 328i

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1057942

SS headers vs stock on euro Z4 3.0si (same motor as e90 330i), showing +19whp from headers alone. Plus a tune and secondary cats removed +30whp seems plausible.

Not going to pay for before and after but I wouldn't mind dyno'ng after headers but without a baseline not sure how useful it is.

Not really useful, but it gives a number to compare it against others (if they used the same dyno) Compared the cost of parts and install, dyno time can be cheap. $50 for 3 runs usually.

Have you fitted the SS headers yet?

I too am thinking about picking up a set. Already have the AA tune with the DISA 3-stage intake manifold...do you know if we need to reflash after installing headers? I know AA sells an "off-road" tune for an extra $200, but their site makes it look like those are for catless cars only.

You will need software to both get the most out of the headers and prevent a CEL from the post cat 02s.

Not yet, on my car the job isn't plug-n-play since headers don't have flanges. The SS headers for n52 Z4 require their high flow midpipes else you need to fabricate an adapter to make the headers match up to existing piping.

I have a Burns stainless collector I don't need anymore. Do your own custom single 3".

I'll either have something fabricated to match up to my existing catback or sell catback exhaust and do full custom starting with 2-in-1 piping from headers leading into 2.5" throughout. Resonator in middle but no muffler. I feel like I might be losing too much backpressure with 3"...

Negative. It's actually why I specifically had this Y pip (2" out to 3") made, but I'm keeping the stock exhaust so I won't use it.
