Tuning shop on the Northern Beaches of Sydney

I have an E88 N55 135i and want to do a MHD flash tune, only mods are charge pipe and BMS intake.

Will be running the stock maps from MHD so no Dyno testing required. I want to pay someone to do it as I don’t have a charger nor the confidence to do it myself.

Ended up with Advan Performance at Auburn, nice bunch of guys. No real BMW tuners in the northern beaches

Booked it in for next week

I have an eBay cable and borrowed a charger.
No issues flashing.

I did end up buying my own charger too though as I don't drive the car much.

Benefits of your own cable is you can code the car as well as flash.

E.g. if you don't have comfort access in your vert, you can code that for free (i.e. remote open and close of roof).
I already had that but the thing I was missing was the
Auto folding and unfolding of the mirrored when locking and unlocking of the car. I've added that in now.

How much are they charging?
Cable is about $20-30 and MHD licenses were about $200 from memory.

It takes about 45 minutes.

$72.50 (more then reasonable I think)

.......but am also doing some other bits and pieces, and as they are a tuning shop thought it worthwhile to have someone who knows the N55 for future work.

They do walnut blasting as well

Yeah I like the features of the MHD flash, ordered some good quality cables so I can take advantage of it

Car was at the workshop today

Charge pipe fitted
New white angel eyes fitted
New Black Kidney Grills

Problems with the MHD flash, unfortunately google would not let us buy the stage 1 map

Have to wait a few days for the account to clear and will try again

Is $72.50 for the Labour or including the flash?

The $72.50 is for the labour to flash. I still had to purchase the MHD flashing module on my account which is US$200 .

The MHD stage 1 maps are about US$75 from memory

Ok makes sense. Reasonable price, though next time you could've bought an eBay cable and eBay charger for $70 and they would be yours to keep.
I know flashing is nerve racking though... Especially if it's your 'new' car. However many of the horror stories are old from old versions of MHD and there are plenty of posts on how to fix things if they break.

The trickier thing is figuring out how to configure the BMW flash tools for coding.. very convoluted process and I'm particular technical too. But it can be done and it's satisfying when you figure out.

Are you all flashed yet?

No mate, I had to put it on hold as I’m super busy doing interviews at the moment. I have the cables now so maybe in the next couple of weeks

Save your wallet.

You can get it delivered fast and free from here:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fulk%2Fitm%2 F113844839894

You don't need a new charge pipe unless yours breaks. It's not a performance mod.
