New factory ones would have probably done the same for me but the bling factor makes me happy. It's back to feeling smooth again and no misfires at any point under heavy throttle so far. Gotta wait for a warm sunny day to take logs so I can check for any wonky timing corrections.

Gauge cluster decided to have a seizure while I was driving. When it came back online I had a TPMS light that won't bug off. Guess my car ate another RDC module which is annoying cause I just replaced it less than a year ago. Might be time to join the FTM gang.

Well, what I didn't do is get my new Apex wheels and Michelin PS4s tires put on. I had an appointment at Costco for this afternoon but when I was loading the wheels into the car, I thought, "Let me check those TPMS sensors I ordered on Amazon back in November just to make sure they are the right ones." They weren't. I goofed and ordered sensors for up to 2010 models so no go for my 2011. Okay, rescheduled the appointment to next Saturday and put in an order to FCP for the correct sensors. Already sold the erroneous sensors and off to drop the package at the P.O.
Is there a Doh! Slap emoji . . . ?

Wow, good catch! Better than the tire guy telling you during the install!
Hope that FCP had em in stock so you don't have to wait for 12 weeks....

Yes, FCP had them in stock and I should get them early next week so I can get the new wheels/tires on next weekend, in time for a Spring Break road trip.

I installed a new 3rd brake light. I don't know why people say that you need to trim them. I got it from FCP and it installed without any modifications. My 2009 trunk has a little indentation channel for the plastic ridge on the light. I put new springs on it so maybe it won't crack after a few years.
I also finally got around to installing my new sunshades too!

Replaced the engine air filter, put a new oil fill cap since the last one seemed to be leaking, and redid the gasket for the secondary air pump
After a quick drive around the car was loving the new filter as it was breathing much better. On another note, the oil pan gasket is(has been) leaking and it's showing. Underneath the car, the oil drain plug cover on the plastic belly pan was glistening and I took a video and could see some bolts with oil on it. As much of a diyer, I think this is a job I'd rather not do myself at my apartment complex. Will try to ask around at some shops and see what some quotes are. The bmw dealership near me quoted just under 1k back in December when I took it in for another issue so hopefully I can get it around 500-750. Other than that, she's running great Edit: here's a video in case you want to see. Apologies for the length, it's a bit long View post on imgur.com

Installed an E92 M3 front sway bar (or anti-sway/anti-roll/stabilizer), new end links, and, of course, bushings and brackets. Only a quick test drive but notably flatter and more stable/solid in cornering, working very well with the Bilstein B12 setup.
The old stock bar definitely has seen better days: Now just need the new wheels and tires. . . . and rear subframe bushing inserts. . . . and 3IM intake and tune. . . . and repaint the front bumper and hood. . . . and . . .

After replacing my VCG 3 months ago I started to get a burning oil smell 5x worse than it was replacing it. We're talking constant smoking that's noticeable whenever the car isn't moving. Poked around there today and found signs of a leak in the back left corner. Not sure if the gasket isn't properly seated or if the VC is cracked. Felt a slight seem at that corner of the VC. Not sure if it's a crack or there normally. All of the bolts are tight.
The issue didn't return until 2.5 months after I did the job so that was weird. Not sure how I should proceed. Is there a way to adjust the gasket without redoing the entire job? Cause if the VC has to come off again I'm replacing the whole thing. |

I think I finally got the ride height dialed in (passenger side deflector) was occasionally scraping at speed on the freeway on my regular commute, never mind when hustling down backroads).
Bottom of wheel to arch is 518 mm front and rear (3/4 tank fuel, stock 17" wheels). Sounds like consensus stock ride height for a 135 is 582 mm front / 574 mm rear , not sure for the 128. |

Had to replace the H8 bulb for the Xenon DRLs. Lucky to find one locally about the right color temp but probably paid too much at Advance Auto. But the damn "check" light is out and I won't look so dorky to oncoming traffic. Used a Sylvania Silverstar, or whatever they call their white lights.

I tighenthen up the 4 bolts at the back left corner in hopes of them not being torqued properly due to the use of swivels and extensions. Most bolts could be hit with just an extension, but once you start moving towards the back of the engine you have to get creative with your approach. We'll see what happens. If the problem persists I'm gonna redo the job and replace the entire VC to be done with it once and for all. |

Just ordered Precision Raceworks ignition kit and replacing all front lights to DZG 6k LEDs, H3/H8 & D1S. Now I gotta find an interior lighting kit and I'll leave the lights alone for a bit.

I got them from another member. They're virtually impossible to find.
