Strange clunking noise after car is idle

I've noticed over the last couple months once the car has been idle for a period of time and I start driving it makes this strange clunking noise especially the first time I break. I've searched the forum and it seems as though others have had the same issue but it's not only once or twice it's all the time. I called my SA and he said something about the rotors changing positions or something like that and it's normal? Just wondering of anyone could chime in about this.

I get a big pop sound when I first apply the brakes in the morning. Almost a metallic clank sound (only happens the first time I brake after that it goes away). The brake pedal is sticky when at a light with prolonged braking. After a few miles it goes away.

It's at BMW now for service.

Do you happen to back into your parking spot? The pads have a little float front-back and will shift when changing direction, at least they did on the last car I had with brembos. When you brake for the first time, the pads then shift to the other side of the caliper and can make a light clunk.

Well when I reverse out and brake going forward it clunks pretty loud. audible to people 20-30 feet away. But the rest of the day it won't do it. no matter how long my car sits. BmW kept my car till maybe after xmas.

Yeah it's just the pads seating toward the rear. I would imagine if you went from going forward to reverse and stopped fast, you would get the same clunk. It's pretty normal with brembos in general.
