Titanium Vs. Aluminum Trim

How much of a difference is there between these two trims? Any picture comparisions?

There are only 3 kinds of trim; 2 of woods and aluminum. Havn't heard of titanium trim.
Mistaken titanium silver as in the exterior color?

In other countries outside of the us they have that. According to post it is duller, rougher finish, but it is on the steering wheel of the sport package.

I'm pretty sure Canada has the Titanium trim unless BMW Canada's website is wrong.

yeah, they have titanium trim here for the E90...Unfortuantely not available for the US Spec cars..I personally like the aluminum better because it has a rougher finish....With a black interior, its not bad...

Yes, alu is much more beautifull than titanium.

we have titanium matte here in Canada, I looks really nice, don't mind it at all, if it holds up it's not worth ordering the brushed, i'm talking 325, the aluminum is standard on the 330.

Yup, Ti Matte is standard in Canada on the 325i. I have and like it a lot, not as bright as the aluminum trim and blends with the black interior a little better, in my opinion. It's a very smooth matte finish, no texture like the aluminium trim. Similar to the trim on the radio bezels, except painted titanium colour.

I've got a couple pics in my album, but the sun was reflecting very strongly on the trim, it's not nearly that bright. I'll try to get some other pics...

The best thing about the Titanium trim IMO is the steering wheel! It looks real sharp!

Thanks for the pics, Brandon. Good shots, and a 325i standard to boot. Good stuff.

Yes it is. It looks as good as the alu trim, IMO. The alu trim isn't worth the extra 480€.

Titanium is plastic whereas Alluminium is what it says.

Titanium is flat whereas Titanium is 'brushed'.

In Europe, Titanium is standard and looks great (not worth paying extra for alluminium - also not all of us like the brushed / scratched effect!

The biggest advantage with Titanium is that sports steering wheels get it as an infill - and it looks great.

Yep, I'm very happy with the titanium. It looks really good and, having had in on my previous E46, it continues to look really good. It also does not show fingerprints.

It's plastic bit actually looks high quality to my eyes, whereas wood is real wood but looks like plastic. It's that shine. Since the titanium is not that shiny, it does not draw attention to itself.

I love the steering wheel too.

I will open by saying that in general I don't like wood trim in cars - looks old, but I couldn't bring myself to get either Aluminium or Titanium on my 325. For some reason, I thought it looked tacky in the BM, while the textured Aluminium in my A4 looked really classy.

Reluctantly I got the walnut because it was the darkest wood and wouldn't stand out too much in my black interior, would have liked the piano black or navy blue as an alternative, but unfortunately it isn't available in Oz as a standard choice.

I guess at the end of the day it is personal choice, and for me it is the exceptional driving experience that wins, not the trim...

I have mine in titanium trim and a sports leather steering with titanium trim also. To me, it looks sporty and blend well with my black leather interior. I have seen and feel the aluminium trim on the 330i but to me unless you look closer or feel it, it does not look much of a difference with the titanium trim.
