Unexplained Misfire. HELP IF YOU CAN!!!!

I've had my BMW for a little of a year know and its been nothing but problems. I'm trying to keep hanging on in hopes that once I get it running right I will have an awesome time with the beautiful car.

My main problem is a random misfire at WOT 4 gear starting around 60-65mph. If can happen anywhere between 3k to 6k rpm. I am just stumped and can't figure out why. Its been to the dealer a couple times and doesn't do it for them probably because they won't push it that hard. Here is the history of my car since I owned it:

-Few months in JB4 installed
-Car misfired multiple cylinders
-Spark plugs went bad and were changed to the NGK plugs and gapped to the recommended width.
-Car ran great.
-Raceland catless downpipes installed
-A couple months later blueish white smoke from exhaust
-Downpipes removed and stock put back on and JB4 was removed due to warranty and injectors were replaced.
-Car ran great
-JB4 was reinstalled few weeks later
-Ran great for a little and then misfire happened again
-JB4 was removed and sold.
-Car got better a little by itself but wasn't perfect.
-BMW recommended walnut shell blasting and was done. Also found out valve cover was cracked.
-Can ran great
-OFT was installed.
-Car ran great however was boosting around 20psi on a map that should have only pushed 14psi and spike possibly at 18psi max.
-Water pump failed and was changed. OFT was removed due to warranty.
-Car ran great however was pushing and holding around 11psi to 13psi with no tune on the car.
-Vanos failure. Both intake and exhaust solenoids were replaced.
-Car ran fine except car idled around 700 to 800 rpm. Sometimes it would go down and idle at 550 to 600 rpm. Also when I come to a stop the car sometimes jumps back and forth to 700 rpm and 550 rpm.
-The car also idles high (1000 rpm to 800 rpm) no matter if it just ran or if first starting up in the morning. Almost as if it always wants to be in a cold start mode (I am just not sure if this is normal or not)
-Currently the car is getting the valve cover and steering rack replaced due to them both leaking.

This is a history of how my first year with my BMW went.

Any help or advice would be great. I've also tried researching this multiple times. Please do not comment with rude and unnecessary comments

Thank you in advance.

Well as for the over-boost. What mods do you have. How are you measuring boost? Do you have a gauge I'm confused as to how you have an over-boost condition on stock DME.

As of now all tunes were removed and the car is stock. Except for DCI and Muffler Delete. I am confused as well about the over boost with stock DME. I am using an ECS tuning electronic boost gauge (Ingeniator)

I am running 93 octane every time I fill up. No tune or flash currently (FRMTL2_335i)

I am running the NGK 5992 spark plugs gapped to .022". I sat at my table at home and gapped them all using the tool that doesn't touch the iridium tip. (E92-N54)

Boosting over factory settings? Might have a dinan flash from previous owners.
Stock clutch fw?

If the valve cover was leaking it may have likely influenced your erratic idle. This car seems to not idle the smoothest normally and gets a little worse on the NGK plugs it seems.

Wait for the car to come back after valve cover replacement before replacing anything else blindly.

Check to make sure one of the boost control solenoids hasn't been bypassed. This was common with the old jb + tune. This could explain the over boost problem.

Thanks for all the help. Once I get it back I will drive it and see if the valve cover makes it any better. If not I will try coils since the plugs and injectors have been replaced.

How do I check to see if the JB4 bypassed my boost control solenoids?

Look up threads on solenoid bypass, im sure theres plenty of threads. Valve cover being cracked plays a big roll in idling issues. As others stated, change all 6 coils and that should also take care of idle. Good luck.

you may want to find out which coilpack is bad. Swap and test them in all cylinders until you find out. It could also be the injectors or cracked manifold and last but not least valves need cleaning.
