After reading everything online and watching every video about new M3 for past 51 days waiting for my car, I ran across this and haven't heard anything about it. Is this standard?

No the ///M puddle light is not standard. It is just a white light standard.

OK, found it's an aftermarket mod. Pretty damn cool though. Sounds like the LED runs hot and fades the slide after a while. Anyone have a purchase link for good quality version for the F80?
