Reverse mirror

So I noticed today when I was backing into a parking spot, the passenger side mirror did not adjust to give me a better view (angle down) automatically like it normally does. Any thoughts on why it did not do it today?

Thanks.

If i have my adjuster switched to the right side it wont tilt down. not sure if that is supposed to happen, but once I switched it to the left it worked fine.

Like another person has said, make sure the mirror adjuster is NOT to the right mirror. This disables the mirror tilt on reverse. Move the adjuster back to the left (drivers) side.

mine will do that occasionally as well as returning to some odd viewpoint of the sky after shifting from reverse...i've learnt to just deal with it.
i use the folding mirrors a lot and notice they don't always return to the same position too. seems like an unnecessary expensive problem to fix. sorry to not help.
good luck!

You can fix this by removing the mirror motor and cleaning the contacts. Very quick fix and works "almost" every time. Pop of the mirror, remove one screw and the remove the plug in the motor, clean and replace.

Thanks guys! The switch was in the right position instead of the left. Flipped it back and it's back to normal. thanks!
