I brought the 325 in for 35k service and I was shocked that they didn't even change the air filter, they only replaced microfilter and oil. I asked and he said that the computer says that i won't need it until 60k, yes, 60k.. Even it says that it's due this month, but how come it shows 25k left? when do you guys/girls here get the air filter change?

another note. they gave me a brand new 08 528 loaner. Compare to the e90, the 5 is more solid built, feel even more control than the e90, and no crack at all like my e90. Even I have never used Idrive or any car GPS before, after playing around for around 15mins. I thought Idrive is easy to use (I am in the computer field though). don't complain about the cup holders in the 3, the ones on the 5 looks so cheap and at the same spot. 5 comes with spare tire? I thought BMW switched to RFT now?

Overall, E90 feel cheap compare to the 5. I wonder how cheap can the 1 compare to the 3? Can't imagine it gets worse (especially compare to Lexus and acura TL)

great news that you got a 5 series as a loaner. as for the 35K service, that seems a bit much to wait until 60K for an air filter change. but then oil changes are stretched to every 15K..

I always pay to change oil around 6 months though. just cheap insurance.

My old E60 530i was a great car. Completely different feel, all the knobs and the build quality is just all in all better, yet I do like the sportiness of the 335i. I guess the best of both worlds may have to be an M5
