Is the track launch pad surface smooth concrete? Or Asphalt?

Without a LSD, racing tires, some working suspension, and track prep, you're never going to get a hard launch. Good news is your clutch and half-shafts will last a lot longer

If none of those things are going to improve you should be able to run much quicker just soft-launching the car and driving the piss out of it.

Good on you for drag racing a manual trans car, there aren't many of us bad-ass mofos out there
Mid 12s? Stock? Hell no. These cars trap in the 105 MPH range in the 1/4 mile. Even on drag radials, I think the 135i would maybe break into the 12s. MAYBE. If you could get a good launch with the crap rear suspension.

To even get into the 12s easily, the car just needs a tune. JB4/Cobb and it'll be in the mid 12s, even with the crap stock tires and suspension. It's been done and posted before.

Drag racing (while harder in practice) is pretty simple by the numbers. If you know the power, and you know the weight, you can pretty easily estimate your trap speed.

Even more simply, just run it down the track. Trap speed is almost entirely dependent on horsepower, even with traction issues, it won't vary much. If you can trap in the 110 range, you can definitely run in the 12s with half decent traction or a skillful launch. With GREAT traction, in a car setup to drag, you can easily turn high 11s with the same traps.

I got 13.5 with a N55 6 speed. I launch at 1700rpm and shift at redline. Michelin SS 255 in the rear.
Now with the N55 DCT I can get 13.3 with launch control and stock RFT.
Both of my 135i were stock.
