335i front brake pad help

On euro car parts and GSF there are 2 options for front pads for my 2007 335i.

One is quite a lot dearer than the other. Looking at the pad dimensions on ECP site they are the same.

Can anybody tell me which ones are correct ? One says its Teves braking system, other says its ATE braking system, wtf is that all about?

Hard to say without links. Whatever you do, don't buy cheap pads.

Its not 2 different brands Im talking about but 2 seperate parts. They offer brembo, pagid, ate and more. I think it will be brembo for me, once I figure out which part is the right one.

Looks like I'll need to call them.

Yeah I'm aware what you are saying, but without links to the parts you are referring to no one can help

Here is the first pad Ecp lists for the front - they might come up as both eicher pads but the full choice of about 5 brands is available on both these links. I'm confused !

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/BM...57352b5&000036

And here's the other one with the same choice of brands -

Right.

Which brand pad do you intend to buy?

If you are buying say ATE pads, then go to manufacturer catalog, find the part number and write it down. Order both sets of pads and when you collect, see which ones match the part number you want from the catalog.

Taking a quick look at the ATE catalogue only gives me two part numbers for non ceramic brakes.

13.0460-7238.2
13.0460-7237.2

So I expect ECP have some stock of both products.

Having looked at both of those in the ATE catalog, they are the same spec wise but have slightly different designs. I'd probably just buy the latest product in this case.

It's not such a worry with a brand like ATE as they only make expensive pads, but Pagid, Eicher etc have some very budget lines that are complete dogshite. Forum advice is to avoid them completely.

Ok thanks , I'm going to go for brembo pads and discs as they've always been a quality marque.

I'll have a search on the brembo website later.

Looking for front brakes for my 335 at the moment.

Eurocarparts DO NOT DO brakes for 335's (Confirmed by telephone)

335 discs are 348mm diameter, not the 330mm shown on ECP sites

GSF do the 348mm ones, Jurid are the original fitment on my car for discs and pads (ATE calipers). You may have Teves calipers, as they were fitted to earlier models than mine.

Currently looking at EBC plain discs and Greenstuff pads for £253 posted.

I previously had EBC slotted discs on my 5 series - too noisy under gentle braking for me.

Most likely ATE, if you put you reg into ecp it will tell you the braking system on fitment detail, you could also take a front wheel off & have a look on top of caliaper, the make will be stamped on there.

How you liking that mishimoto inter cooler?

They do stock 348 discs for 335i. Scroll further down if you aren't seeing them.
