Fog lamp replacement

Hey guys,

I have a 2011 BMW 335 xDrive msport LCI.

I'm looking to change my stock fog lamps with either a white bulb or HID kit. I have the LUX H8 Angel Eyes installed and would like something that would match those. I've heard MTEC 4350k bulbs are a good match.

If I don't go the HID route will be I changing my fog lamp bulbs once a year? Some advocates of HIDs say might as well pay up and go HID and not worry about replacing bulbs every 1 year or more. Does anyone know of a good HID kit that matches the LUX H8 Angel eyes well?

Thanks in advance, appreciate your guys help/opinions

I have the Lux180 AE's & used HID fog kit with same K value from HighPerformanceBulbs - you can buy the HPB products at forum sponsor TopGearSolutions

http://www.topgearsolutions.com/

I've had the HID's installed for 6yrs now with absolutely no problems

Thanks man, did you DIY? I did my angel eyes myself wasn't bad at all but not sure about fogs, feels a little tougher taking apart all that plastic in behind the bumper.

thanks for the response, going to go HID route

Yup, DIY

Not hard, I removed the front wheels and front inner fender liners only - that gave me more than enough room to mount the ballasts to frame behind liners and access to install bulbs into lamp housings. Wire harness from factory bulbs plugs directly in to ballasts each side so PnP.

Just make sure you make a good solid/clean Ground connection - it will save you heartaches later on
