Transient 4x4! warning light

For about 5 seconds (not long enough so I could even pull out my mobile and take a photo) I got a 4x4! error which the manual says means Xdrive has failed.

The check control immediately after said all systems ok.

Anyone ever experience this? I tried searching but to no avail.

Yes, when I installed alarm and disconnected battery. I think it just recalbrats AWD system after reset.

I just installed alarm yesterday, but have not brought it to dealer for activation yet. I have this same 4x4! error showing up when I start the car, but it's not disappearing. Are you saying it will not disappear until I bring the car in for activation? There is also a message about DSC not working.....

No, mine disappeared after 2 minutes of driving and didn't see this warning again. It has nothing to do with alarm, but it needs recalibrating after loss of power (when battery gets disconnected).

Thanks for that! On the day of the alarm install, when I reconnected the battery and noticed the error message, I just turned the engine on and off for a minute or so and the error did not disappear. After reading your message, I actually drove the car for a minute or so and the message did go away....apparently, you must actually drive it!

I am getting the same warning light 4x4 warning light, I am also getting sirius error and the radio goes from sirius to FM . The sirius was just installed by the dealer about two weeks ago. I have a service appt. tommrow. The light goes off when the car is turned off but comes back on after 20 min of driving.

If it started after dealer installed Sirius, that could be a clue. My dealer advised that it was software related and upgraded PROGMAN. My car came with factory Sirius so that was not an issue for me.
