Just purchased a Jet Black 335i yesterday...need advice
I took a look at the paint this morning with a halogen lamp and there are horrible swirl marks ALL over the car. Would you all recommend taking the car back to the dealership or taking it to a professional detailer? Taking it back to the dealership might be an obvious answer, but I am hesitant since they are the ones that hacked up the paint to begin with. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Give the dealer a shot. They can't make it worse and at the end of the day it a BRAND FREAKIN' NEW CAR! They better get it right GL

Jet black has a very soft clearcoat, I would suggest a pro detailer before a dealer. The will more than likely just glaze the car which fills the swirls in order to hide it.
I have a Crimson Red which also has a soft clearcoat, I would be happy to polish it out for you if you need help. Raja may be closer to you, he can also help you out! |

yes this is a brand new e90 335i. I have a UDM and some optimum products but I do not feel comfortable tackling a brand new black bmw . Seeing as most of the car is in this condition, I think it would be easier to just take it to a professional detailer. thanks for the advice guys.

I didn't realize you had a UDM. Get a couple white pads and orange pads and some Menzerna polish. You can DIY (or go to a detailer for this initial time, then DIY the next time). You won't hurt your car with a UDM. As pseto said, the swirls WILL return, it's inevitable with that color. You'll need to lightly polish the car every six months or so, that's just how it is.
