I'm not gonna lie. Everytime I see an S40 i think of a 1 series. Maybe b/c they'll be around the same size.

My guess is that he is referring to a previous post about hating everything "Bangle".

Well that changes my view a little bit.:w00t:

I've got a similar lip on my E46, so it probably won't bother me. But then again, these shots from the Photos forum show the trunk without the lip, and to me it does look nice & clean while still having that aggressive touch:

No referring to the Gurney Flap. It's better known as the lip spoiler on the E46 m3, but in essence, they look nearly the same. 1 series look slightly smaller than the E46 M3.

Hence, why I said you must hate the E46 M3 because it has one of these.

I really like the clean look.

I'd be interested in knowing about this too. Does removing it leave some holes behind that need plugging? Can the operation be reversed, just in case I do something silly like sell the 135 eventually  and the next buyer wants the fin?

If it is like the E46 M3 it was not an option, BUT, there was a no-cost DELETE option. So we should ALL be happy. Count me in the "like it" group.

I don't mind the lip. it doesn't look too bad..it's very subtle. But I like the clean look...I hope BMW makes it as an option so we have a choice.
