BMS Elite Charge Pipe Fitment
I bought a BMS "Elite" charge pipe for my 07 335i and when I went to install it, I could not get the coupler to seat on the throttle body no matter how much I tried. I removed the throttle body and the charge pipe popped right on, then I bolted it back to the intake manifold. Except now the charge pipe is squeezing my power steering lines. It's not just rubbing them but pinching them against the strut tower. I now see why I couldn't get it to connect to the throttle body as there's just not enough clearance.
The charge pipe is rotated down as far as it can go and it's already contacting the plastic clip bracket for the heater hoses, and still pinching the power steering hoses. If I rotate the charge pipe upward it pinches the power steering hoses even more. I emailed BMS support with photos and I was told this is normal. Anyone else run into this issue? I've been working around various cars a long time and pinched hoses aren't normal in any application I've ever seen. |

Wanted to post an update. I returned that trash BMS "elite" charge pipe and got a VRSF pipe instead. It fits perfectly with none of the issues I had with that last one, no interference with anything.
BMS made me pay for return shipping (for a defective part) but hey at least they waived their 'restocking fee' so I should be thankful? |

we need more objective information to see what was wrong.
I have the n54tuning charge pipe, and iirc before ST conversion, it was pressing on the lines. Now it's worst with the single turbo, they a bit kinked, since I did not extend the hose, I wanted to keep it OEM. |

The challenge I had with it was seating the flexible hose piece. The one supplied with the 'ARM' kit which I used on a previous application was a breeze to install. I don't see any 'Elite' reference mentioned on the BMS site.

They sell two versions for the N54, the standard one that's likely made in the same Chinese factory as every other cheap charge pipe on the market (not a bad thing) and the Elite version made in the USA with a shiny black finish. There are virtually zero reviews of the elite charge pipe anywhere other than their site. It didn't fit for me, but their customer service told me "we have sold thousands of these over the years and haven't had anyone report any fitment problems." Guess my 335 is different than all the others.
