Production Number goof up?

First of all Dave, thanks for your time in helping out all of us with our questions:thumbup:

So, I was given my production number today. My CA told me that my car is at the 112 status. I tried to sign up on the BMW owner circle with the production number and it comes up as a 2005 X3 SAV. What do you think is wrong?

If my order is at the 112 status should I be getting a VIN soon?

Thanks in advance Dave,

Brandon:headbang:

I-One-Da, the owner circle site is always about a week behind, and will not show the correct description of the car initially.

I knew that but should it at least show the right car? I knew that it might not show the right color or features but it seems like it should show the correct model?:iono:

That's a good question. Although, I do find it funny if the BMW plants still producing 2005 x3 on their line....

it's not unusual, wait until you get a vin number, then check, it should be fine

Question for the dealer: my 1er didn't come with the extra cupholder nor console bracket for it and i want it. is it possible to retrofit? how much would it cost and how much would the labor be?

did you order nav? I believe it only comes with the navi equipped cars in the us. As for the retrofit, I don't see it listed in the accessories book, I'm sure you could do it, but I'm betting not worth the cost

no prob, just figured it would be cool to have a centralized location for questions. By no means to do I know close to everything, I've even been corrected on a few things in this forum before, but I'll try to answer what I can.

I know, kinda wierd.

I just found out, not sure if it is true, that BMW recycles the production numbers. In a couple of days when the site gets up to date with my order it should reflect what I have ordered and not a 2005 X3.

Thanks everyone for the help:drinking:

I ordered a 128i two weeks ago and received a production number over a week ago. The BMW site is still showing my number as belonging to a 2005 six series graphite black. I called the dealer and he said he did not know why the info has not 'flipped' yet, but that it shows up correctly on the dealer's system. He told me it was a Priority One and not to worry... of course I worry anyway. When I call the 800 number, it says my order has been received but no production date has been confirmed. That doesn't sound good. Should I worry??

I noticed the local bmw dealership here marks up thier 1ers about 2.5k above msrp, do you think it would cause a controversy if I asked for 500 below msrp? or even msrp?

no, they are just hoping to catch uneducated buyers, I dont think anyone is paying markup, 500 off MSRP is more than reasonable

Alright. Well I've seen some dealers say they won't go below msrp. So I figured I'd ask.

Ok so the dealership faxed me a production number and when i tried to sign up on bmw's owner's circle, it asks me to enter the production number. I entered the production # the CA faxed me and it comes back as a 2001 Siena Red Metallic 330Ci Convertible?? That cant be right can it?

They recycle production numbers, so for now it's showing you the last vehicle that used that number. (bet it says it's been delivered too right?) It'll change to your actual car once it's accepted for production.

Is it a Vehicle Inquiry Report? If so, and it's got all the right options on it, then you're fine. When I first entered mine it had the wrong color, and all the wrong options, for about a week. It didn't update until the same day my VIN# was posted (old site had vin listed) which was about 4 days before my car was scheduled to be completed.

Yeah its a vehicle inquiry and it has all the right options on it but it lists msrp price instead of our agreed upon price.

That's why it says "Total suggested price". That paper always lists MSRP.
