WTF?? If there was a need for the screen to flip like that (as in video camera screens when you rotate them round), then I could accept that there was some sort of malfunction. But there is no need to a screen flip on i-drive. That's weird!

I bet they used a common display driver on the WinCE OS. Most display drivers have a key sequence that rotates the screen. My dad called me up at work the other day with this problem on his Vista laptop.
![]() It doesn't help you, but I bet there is some sort of button press, iDrive control maneuver that made it rotate. Not surprised it doesn't reset with a reboot. I think you're going to have to have your BMW Center get in touch with the iDrive engineers in Germany to resolve that one. |

It was a model that was meant for a buyer in Australia, but it got snaffled by you instead. It's just returning to 'DownUnda mode' and making you pay for your sins.
Sorry, the devil made me!

No chance this was meant for OZ, being on the other side of the globe?
ROFL... You sure to make it back home that's for sure.... oh I bet there could be a lot of jokes for this... EspressoBoy PS I actually had the same problem when I was trying to take the car out of a swamp using the force... Oh and lets not forget when you go into the dealership and ask them what they think... can you take some pix of their reaction? |

the nav could have overheated and so created that problem. i'm having problems with my nav too. service advisor said the car threw a error code that the nav overheated. probably cuz it's situated on top of the dash for the hot 'ol sun to beat down on it.

when you say you did a reboot, did you perform a CCC reset? If not, try this. Hold the volume button and both eject buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds or until your screen blanks out. That should reset the CCC. May or may not fix it. I've never seen anything like that.
