You obviously have not looked at how the 1-series rear sway bar is mounted. Much different than the E36/E46.

Unless you are the best rear subframe dropper in the business, I think you have the rear swaybar on your car confused with a much easier swaybar replacement.

I'm a pretty daring wrench wielding car hack, and that's more than I would want to attempt (and I've done many swaybar installs before - along with many other things to my past bimmers).

Chill guys. I only ordered the front swaybar (isn't that what this thread is about?). I'm not a n00b, I know what the rear swaybar install entails.

Chill? Thanks for the advice.

You were the one who said you did the front/rear on your past bimmer and SPECIFALLY mentioned replacing SWAYBARS. Nobody "called you" on mentioning the "rear" word...

Sorry for the confusion. I guess it was a little unclear on how I worded it.

P.S. I'm using your review to install my front sway bar. Did you leave the black rubber inserts inside the bushing when you installed it, and grease it as well? My previous sways were H&R (i.e. no grease).

I removed it, after never getting it to not bang (no matter how it is adjusted), even with purchasing another set of aftermarket end links, after the UUC adjustable end links rusted solid after 3 months.

I'd recommend the E93 M3 bar or the Hotchkis bar over this one. The UUC one is not up to quality standard of past UUC parts I've purchased... not even remotely close.

Looking to do the M3 front bar on my 128 Sport. Anyone know if there are differences between the 128/135 front ends?

UUC's front bar doesn't fit on any 1er without bumps and scrapes. I've tried to save others from having the major problems I experienced. Sorry you didn't read any of my many warnings about that product. Be grateful it didn't rip your brakes lines out, and slice the ABS pulsers in two, like mine did.

Oh I did read them, and I thought this was the V2 version of the bar, which was adjusted after you had your problems. I could barely steer the car with the bar installed, luckily I didn't actually try driving with it on.

Just finished the M3 front bar install on my 128. Straight forward install, the DIY allowed me to make sure I had all the tools necessary before getting car up on ramps. Thanks.

Where can you get lithium grease? Local hardware store? Home Depot (US retail chain)?

I would recommend you using White Teflon Based grease as it works extremely well with the Polyurethane Bushings. You just need to put a bit on the bar and the bushings. You don't need to pack it as it is unnecessary.

This is the brand I used on my M3 and it works great !

Regarding installing the Rear Bar, I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you have a access to a lift.

When you set the bars to full stiff, the end of the swaybars, which normally point towards the back of the car, are able to "hyperextend" with the end-link, and flip up so that they point straight up.

Not only do you get horrendous banging, but it also immediately cuts through your ABS sensors (pulsers @ $70/ea), and also snaps at least one of your hydraulic brake lines.

I was lucky to be warned by a bagillion dashboard lights, and I slowed from 60mph on 95N in CT via downshifting as I got into the brakedown lane and used the hand brake for the last 5mph. Nothing like losing your brakes on the highway though. Was weird, i didn't panick at all. just threw my blinker on and worked my way into the brakedown lane, downshifted a few times and handbrake...

Rob Levinson at UUC is making a plate for me to mount on the end of the bar, that will allow for for lowering the mounting points for the end link. I'm not sure if that's the long term solution.

I have new ABS pulsers that I installed, replaced the brake line, rebled the system, and repositioned the swaybar at the middle setting. It's been fine like that for a week.
Sounds completely in keeping with UUC's stellar reputation.

UUC products and customer service blow. Enough said. I installed the e93 M3 bar in 25 mins, perfect fitment.
