I like these. Sort of a Japanese F type but with its own character. Very cool.

Pretty pricey though. $110k.

It's well-priced. The car has immense presence, rock solid build quality, and it's beautifully styled inside and out. I've never driven one, but anyone who makes a living driving and reviewing cars loves them.

Anytime I see one on on the road, it's driven by a fit and polished 50-something with salt and pepper hair and a visibly satisfied wife in the passenger seat. I think they're ace.

Really? They're all driven by old fat men who haven't seen their dick in 30 years here, lol. Cool cars, but they're always the same sort of person that drives any very luxury coupe. They want to pretend to be sporty, but they're well outside their prime, if they ever had a prime, and so REALLY want a soft comfortable car

Nothing wrong with any of that either. My buddy (30s) wants one insanely badly, but he's married with 2 toddlers and not in a position to have a secondary car like that, lol. Personally, I think the 8 series looks better, but looks are subjective.

I also think the 8 Series looks better than the LC500.
My friend/neighbor (late 70's) across the street has an LC500 Coupe as a toy car. Because it's useless for carrying anything more than 2 people.
I just don't like the styling of that thing. It's just over styled. Too much going on. He was jealous that the 8 Series comes with soft close doors and this is not even offered on the LC500.

I like F Types too. I feel like they started the exhaust burbling from the factory.

What other cars do you classify as a luxury coupe?

Any time I see one of these I do a double take. I'm still ultra impressed that they made it to market given the styling. It doesn't matter how many times I see one, I always think it's THE concept car that actually made it. I love 'em.

I always think the same thing. How did this thing make it past the Lexus design team? But I still say it's way overpriced for what you get. There's plenty of Euro verts that look as nice and outperform it for significantly less. I'd certainly take an M850 over it, has this thing beat in looks and performance.

Love these, and that would be the spec I would get too. Unfortunately I have to be able to drive kids around...

The BMW 8, whatever MB calls the CLK these days, that kind of stuff. Honestly, there's not much left in that segment anymore lol.

i wanted to like them, i've rented 2 off turo

they are very nice BUT the price is absurd for the level of performance. Its not even that comfortable or quiet over rough roads either. They do sound good, but any v8 can sound good with an exhaust.

See, I don't think they're a performance car. They're just a "my kids are off at college and I felt like I needed a 2 seater to pretend I'm young again but I have a bad back and I can't get down into a real.sports car and I will drove 10 under at all times" kinda car. It's more about the style of a 2 door than the lower weight and performance.

Isn't that half the state of FL? Not too surprising.

Thats exactly what they are, just a grand touring car. Not a performance car at all. Personally I have no interest in a performance car.

Beautiful and slow. I should know. I drive an IS500 with the same engine...

HOWEVER...Nothing beats the sound of that V8.

I like the exterior styling on these, very cool. Always had a bit of a soft spot for Lexus when it comes to the exterior design. The SC/LC has been around for a long time and it's always been a looker.

Unfortunately the interior is a mess of cheap plastic, horrible ergonomics with too many buttons but also not enough, Toyota/Lexus can't do infotainment that feels even remotely like it belongs in a premium car. They're hilariously overpriced and no matter the performance on paper they're as much fun to drive as watching paint dry.

I get that the target audience for these is old guys who just want the appearance of a sports car while having something safe, reliable, soft and generally uninspiring.

Neighbor right next door to the LC500 has a 2020 Mustang GT California Special.
The exhausts on each car sound the same. But not surprised since both have a 5L V8, 4 cam, 32 valve with the same engine firing order.

Can't agree with this about the LC interior at all. The LC interior is very high quality and I couldn't find any cheap plastic in it anywhere. Agree on the infotainment. I also don't find it overpriced at all.
